@ those who don't understand the phrase "If you ain't cheatin...you ain't tryin...", it is not trying to make a moral judgment call concerning cheating, it is only pointing out a trend that in the REAL world the people who cheat get further in life than those who don't. If you really think you are doing everything possible to succeed, but you are not cheating than in reality you are NOT doing everything possible. Now obviously many people will find it morally reprehensible to cheat, but the fact remains that you *could* be doing it to succeed even more. Also, I really am not sure some people understand how widespread "cheating" is in real life. If I were to take the 10 people with the highest GPAs in my high school class I would say only 2 did not cheat to obtain them. The 2nd highest GPA in my class was achieved by someone who cheat on pretty much everything imaginable. I know people who cheated on the SAT, AP tests, pretty much every project, and any other test where cheating was possible, lied on the college applications etc. Of all the people who did this only 1 ever got caught and all they got for it was a 0 on one project. In other words, if you don't wanna cheat thats fine, but ALOT of your competition WILL, so when they beat you out because of it it was because you didn't use every possible method at your disposal and they did. You might feel good about yourself for not cheating, but that doesn't change the fact that you could have gotten into a better college and gotten a better job if you had cheated.

Not saying that its morally right to cheat, it definitely is NOT, jsut saying life ain't fair and the peopel who get ahead are not always the ones who deserve it.

These are the cheating related quotes I remember:

"Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat."
"Unethical behavior is something you can do for personal gain that would be disastrous if everybody did it."

My personal favorites:

"A man may make many mistakes but he isn't a failure until he blames someone else."
"Well done is better than well said. "

If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, learn to accept it. But don't complain.

Generally, you can be right, or you can be happy.

/RIP Dad....

is that the same as ignorance is bliss?

No, it means there are very few things worth sacrificing your happiness for. It's expecially important when you have a family.

This is not intended to mean that one should put aside one's convictions for the sake of happiness. The implication is that happiness is a state we should cherish and endeavor to preserve. Fighting, arguing about nonsense, putting your own ego before the happiness of yourself and your loved ones is stupid, and ultimately worthless.

Further, to BrownTown, the "dark side" will always be there, if you've never acknowledged it you're ignorant. Having acknowledged it, to dwell there, for sake of adding perspective, is egocentric. Acknowledge the negative but endeavor to creat and preserve the positive.

That is fvcking brilliance!
I wish I would have thought of things that way before.
But, I've always been too big a fan of arguing about nothing just so I could be right.

djheater You are a genuine wise man. Thank you.

My Dad came through an abusive and broken home and severe alcoholism. By the end of his life he was 31 years sober and had sponsored hundreds of drunks. 14 people of the 200 who attended his funeral stood up to speak and directly credited him with saving their lives.
It's his wisdom, he earned it, not me.
