What's the softest thing/material you've ever touched?

This thread was inspired by the "what's the most you've ever spent on one item of clothing" thread.

I was in the Fendi store on Rodeo Drive the other day, and couldn't stop petting this coat. It was INSANELY soft... like nothing I'd ever felt before. The fur kept feeling like it would melt in my hand, but it didn't... I checked the tag, and it was a chinchilla fur coat... on sale for $75,000. The matching small chinchilla fur coin purse was $1500.

Have you ever touched chinchilla fur?

I think it's probably the softest stuff I've EVER felt in my life... I can only imagine what it would be like to roll around naked it. Sooooooooooooooooo soft... :D

(as a side note, I'm against using animal fur for fashion... I don't own any fur myself, and doubt I would even if I could afford it)

Chinchilla KILLLLLLLLEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say the softest thing I've ever touched was my dog, Oliver, when he was three weeks old at the Cleveland Animal Protective League. :D

I've got a bad feeling about the direction this thread is going to go.

I'll start with

Dezign, I have a chinchilla fur comforter, blanket, and wall to wall chinchilla carpeting. Stop by anytime.

You have to buy the coat first. :p

Nah, nobody has a 100% clean mind. You throw in the word "naked" anywhere and the curve flies one way for sure.

As to my answer... those new throw pillows from Brookstone are pretty damned soft.

that means 7.5% are guys! :D

:wine::)

I'd like to point out that I didn't think "PICS!!!!!OMG" after seeing that line about nakedness...

My friend has a chinchilla. It was pretty soft. They're mountain animals, and they jump from rock to rock. About the size of your average hamster, and you have to let them roll in volcanic ash to keep their fur/skin clean.

If this "friend" wasn't such a doof, I'd go visit him more often and have some more firsthand accounts.
