The kid can't be left alone for 1 to 2 weeks at the home? Shit, it's even going to be summer! You won't have to worry about making the kid attend school. (The parents would find out anyway....)

Shit... I was allowed to stay home without supervision while my parents went on vacation/went-to-funerals-far-away or did whatever when I was a teenager.

I never wanted to go. They usually went to funerals or to places I wasn't interested in. (Las Vegas for instance)

Edit: You're thinking, "YOU DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO VEGAS? Loser!" OH HEY, HOW OLD WAS I? BELOW 18... Dipshits. There is nothing to do in Vegas that is any fun when you're that age (Hell, not even below 21). I am not interested in performance circus shit either.

Having raised 4 teenagers I'm of the opinion that you should stay as far away from them as you can at all times. Teenagers aren't good for adults' sanity. Take them WITH me? Are you out of your mind? My liver can't tolerate the amount of alcohol I'd need to deal with that.

You gotta agree to the basic ground rules before you commit yourself to something like that.

You're the dipshit here buddy. You should try to get a job with the performance circus, because they are in need of elephant manure haulers.

Depends on the teenager.
I have a 14 year old cousin who I would trust my life to. He has shown countless examples of good judgment and maturity. In his case, I would give him the option of staying in my house (with the 106 inch screen and projector as well as my gaming box and a shitton of booze that I trust he wouldn't drink) or of coming with to the store, or my friends, or wherever I was going.

My little brother is 24, I wouldn't trust him alone in my house for more than an hour.

To the OP

Why are you letting someone drop off their kid? To play games? Who are you Michael Jackson? jk

But the issue here is that this lady is using you for free caregiving/babysitting. Are you trying to do her? Face it she is out doing someone else while your watching her kid.

oh and pics of mom

English. Learn to speak it.

That being said, leave the kid. He's not 7, he's a teenager. He's probably not going to kill himself or burn the house down in 1-2 hours. Before you leave, lay some rules down so you're both clear about what's going on.
