Street/strip cars can be fun to drive, and having a car with a high top speed doesn't mean you have to be going a high speed to have fun. Sometimes the feel of the engine loping along at 70MPH and knowing that if you need to kick it upto 80 to get by a trucker you can do it while being pushed back in your seat, or flying up an incline while traffic cannot (or in many cases will not because they're all flatlanders) keep up thier speed.
I've driven a truck with 460Lb/ft of torque available, it doesn't mean I have to call on all that torque to get a warm fuzzy
