I used to hate wireless mice until I used an mx700, then I was sold. Then I got an mx1000 and wondered how I ever survived with the 700, because teh 1000 is freaking godlike.

That's ridiculous. how could the 1000 be any better, at all, for daily (non-gaming) use? unless maybe it has better range. is it bluetooth?

Some people might like the feel or button configuration that much more. Or do precision stuff non-related to gaming.

would you even notice that when you're web surfing, word processing, etc? The accuracy of the mx700 is pretty damn good to begin with. I don't see how improved accuracy, alone, would make the mx1000 "freakin godlike". Either I'm missing something, or skace is exaggerating about the advantages of the mx1000 over the mx700.

I have gotten to a point where I hate clutter. To reduce said clutter at my computer, I have taken the keyboard and mouse cords along with the network cord clutter out of the equation... Less wires = Zen

Now if only we had wireless PSU's

I'm willing to bet that if I took a wireless mouse and added a cord to it that connected to nothing, that the wired mouse people would say it was the best damn mouse they ever used and "wireless sucks, lag, fragging worse...blah, blah, blah." I hate battery powered mice - they are awfully heavy. On the other hand, a mouse with a rechargable internal battery is much nicer

Yep, I've used my friend's MX700 several times. Both my roommate and I notice the lag, although the friend doesn't seem to. Part of that may be due to the sheer weight of the thing, but lag is lag, regardless of the cause.

I haven't tried the MX1000; it could be completely lag free. But I think a little skepticism here is healthy, given my past experience.

I've got one where the reciever is a little dongle about 1 1/2 inches long that fits in a USB port. The mouse has a little hatch on the side where you can store the reciever when you're travelling. Just got it today and it works pretty good.

Just because the reviewer is inept, or a fanboy, doesn't change the technology.

Wireless mouse = 125hz transmission rate. Do the math. 125 cycles a second = 8ms lag.

Period. That's hard physics, and you can't do anything about that.

Wired mouse can do up to 1000hz. 1000 cycles a second = 1ms lag.

So....what were you saying?

I'll take a mouse without lag, kthxbye.

I had a pretty heavy wireless mouse, it did get a little annoying when I would need to lift the mouse and move it. Apparently, some of the newer ones don't have quite the "heft" to them. Have pondered grabbing an MX1000, but still outta my price range. Still using my Logitech wired Mouseman Optical.
