In my family's computer the ESS 688 sound card and its case date back to Christmas 1994 when it was a 486DX/2-66 system.

I am using a 14" Compaq monitor from 1995. I am too cheap to buy a new one, but it is starting to go. Methinks I will have to break down and finally get a new one.

In my computer? Probably my PIII 600@800 and the CUSL2 mobo it's riding on. The CPU is a year and a half old and the mobo is about a year old.

I have a printer, keyboard, CD-ROM, sound card, and modem that date back to 1995. I am currently using all but the modem and sound card (both are ISA). It looks like the CD-ROM drive will be the next of the "first PC generation" to die, it rarely reads CDs.

On my Cyrix 686, I've got a 5.25" floppy f/ 1991. I've also got attached to it, a 14" Dell monitor from 1989, which does not have on screen display, does not have little knobs to adjust the display, but rather holes that need a screw driver inserted into to adjust the display. Now that is quality.
