The oldest part of my system? That would be me. My warranty ran out years ago, and replacement parts are damn hard to find, but I interface well, and I'm tweaked, freaked, and never need backup.

Some say I'm peripheral, some even say I'm SCSI, but I'm high capacity, a truly hard drive, and I come with a blazing rotational speed. My random access will drive your wild. My duty cycle can't even be calculated. I take a licking all night long, and stay up, operating and tighly interleaved. I'm on line and on time. All I need is the appropriate female interface, and it's input time, baby.

Did I mention that I'm highly delusional? :D

I have a Black Antec KS-11BATX Server case that is about 3 years old. I'd replace it but it's to big and heavy to sell at the For Sale Forums because it would cost an arm and a leg to ship it. Of course Clients that don't know any better are always impressed when they see my system just based on the sheer size of the case. Of course we all know it's not the size that counts, it's what you do with it.

Depends what you mean by "your computer". The components in my PC are more or less new, but I just built a fileserver in the weekend. I used an old 120Mhz Pentium I got for free. It's pretty old, dunno how old though.

so many people swear by those old IBM keyboards, and i will admit they seem to last forever, but i really hate them. the key's travel too far, so i can't type as fast. and they're loud. probably the best keyboards in terms of lifespan, though. built like tanks.

I have a switch I ripped out of a 30 year old radio and screwed on to control my video card's fan. Other than that, my USB Keyboard which is approx 2 years old.

if you really want to get technical, it's the screws. They've been around for as long as I can remember.

As far as hardware...my smart surge protector.

My floppy drive...4 years old. I used to have a really old 120MB Colorado tape drive to store documents and stuff, but that went obsolete really fast.

my 286, sheesh, i really dont know what those components are...the monitor says "AMD" since when did AMD make monitors..? Anyway, has a 25 MB hard drive, thats right MB. Umm, those disk drips with those giant black floppies (flip floppity ones). A 3 button mouse, and still running windows 3.0 real strong. not windows 3.1, windows 3.0, you know? The one with the solid blue windows start screen. Gotta love playing wing commander on that thing... =)

The sub-atomic particles that compose my computer have been around since the beginning of the universe.

But really, it's gotta be the floppy. 8 years old, came with a 486 sx-33 that had a cutting-edge 2x CD-ROM drive.

hehe, ibm keyboards with the loud noises are only ones that i have ever used at home. been using them for pratically all my life, and it pisses me off when i use any other keyboard. especially mac and laptop keyboards.

Altec Lansing 880AD

Bought it for $299 at CompUSA right when they came out...friends told me to buy a receiver, but I had my heart set on these babies...still running good after 2.5 years of thumping and pounding bass...woohoo!

My 17" monitor, Dell keyboard, and Altec Lansing speakers used to be tied for oldest. Sadly, two of the Three Amigos passed away yesterday :( leaving only the monitor. 6+ years and still going strong... :)
