Well when I was a kid my dad had a gas station and went to .09 per gallon which at that time was the tax, he gave it away. Big gas war, dont see those anymore.

Yeah, it seems like in the early 70's I saw gas down in Texas for $.25 a gallon or so. Then the whole oil embargo thing threw a wrench in everything. Waiting in line for hours only to find out that they had run out of gas was loads of fun......:|

Back in 1988 we had a huge price war. It got as low as $0.25/litre here in Ontario.

I filled up my 1968 Buick Skylark's tank (20 US gallons) for around $20.00 back then.

My economics teacher told me that the price of gas in 1980, if adjusted to account for inflation, would be $2.70/gallon.

The lowest that I actually remember was $1.05 a gallon for 87 octane about three to four years ago. In the past few days however, gas prices around here have dropped about 15 cents a gallon.

i remember buying gas for about .30 cents a gallon,
remember seeing it for about .20 cents a gal before i could drive.

In 1973 was in Niagra Falls Canada, gas was the same price as USA,but it was an Imperial gallon {5 us quarts, so 8 imperial gallons = 10 US gal :) }
:D, back when it was Cool to buy gas in Canada now it is confusing to buy fuel in Canada,
{lets see if it is $1.50 per liter Canadian $ and how much is that in US $,and then convert to US gallons :confused: }
