What's the highest $ amount that you have been scammed for?

$10 for some kind of herb when I was a freshmen in high school....
wasn't what I wanted it to be 🙁

Anyone who admits to more than $100 is an idiot....

Once for getting scammed and twice for admitting it on a public forum.

i got scammed out of $4.2 million ... damn that Bernie Madoff

😛

Abut 10-15 minutes, which is only worth ~$5 to me. It happened while clicking your threads before reading who posted them...

$400 for a laptop a long time ago (4-5 years I think). Unfortunately PayPal was absolutely no help in getting the funds back.

Think I got scammed for a few hundred dollars on an Xbox at one point in time as well. The whole thing seemed fishy, but against my better judgment I went for it.

Damn scammers...

What is it with you and all your fucking questions? I see a really bright future for you around here.

I once lost $1000 pesos (about US$0.75) in the "Three Card Monty" scam. I was 12 at the time, so of course I was not aware of the scam......

$30. I think it was for some swap discs from some company online that I later found out was shady.
I usually research a company I am buying from, but didn't for some reason at that time.
I never got what I ordered, even after numerous emails, so I just gave up.

Every time I look at the taxes taken out of my pay check 🙁

That's not really a scam... Anywhere you go you're gonna have to pay them.

Dubai 😛

$10 at the DC zoo. I'm pretty sure the parking attendant wasn't legit. I became suspicious when he handed me a cardboard ticket. By the end of the day my wife wasn't feeling well so we just left. Not sure what I could have done to call him out on it.

About $300. A guy that I bought a car from had disconnected and reconnected the battery to clear the check engine light so it wouldn't come on until after I took it home. He didn't answer my calls after that, the bastard. I had to replace an O2 sensor and unclog the EGR valve.

I paid $250 to get a battery replaced. My car broke down in the middle of nowhere. I got a tow into some small podunk town. They wanted to charge me $500 for a new battery, I talked them down to $250. I was trying to get to a funeral so I wasn't in much of a haggling mood. I'm sure I could've done better, but I just wanted to get on my way.
