$40 but going to get it back soon with refute by CC company.

Oh, I lent $150 to a guy in highschool and never saw it, but never really expected to, either.
Unfortunately PayPal was absolutely no help in getting the funds back.
This recently was with paypal, too. They are useless. Found for my favor, but the seller's account and bank account are empty, so instead my credit card company will refund and take it from paypal.

IMO, paying with a paypal balance is a BAD IDEA. You essentially have no protection.
Well unless you count getting duped into buying a mini-disk player when I was 15. They were supposed to be the future. FUCK YOU SONY.
My dad bought a laserdisc player, lol
Yeah unfortunately the purchases were when I was younger, before I could get credit cards and the awesome fraud protection that comes with them. 🙁

$1000

Sold a laptop on ebay and the buyer paid me with a CC over paypal. Thirty days later, buyer does a charge back and by then I no longer had the tracking number so I could not prove delivery. Paypal gave me a -$1000 balance and eventually sent it to a collection agency.

I've never been scammed, I'm cautious with my money and can see a scam coming a mile away.

Also, I'm ok making slow steady returns on investments and am not interested in the risk associated with making a big kill.

I dont think i have been scammed but bought some stupid stuff that i knew would probably be worthless.

Anyone who admits to more than $100 is an idiot....

Once for getting scammed and twice for admitting it on a public forum.

Gratz living as a liar.

~$80 for a book I didn't get when I ordered on half.com, did a charge back and got it back
~$50 for some rebate that I didn't get because the company went out of business or somethign
~$20 some b*tch kid use to steal money/gum out of my backpack at school..

The government scams me for 30%+ of my income every year.

Actually, if the gov had their way, they would take 100%. What we actually do is justify to the gov the amount we don't give them... not the other way around.

as for me... never been scammed and lost money.

About 60.00. I was drinking at the bar and well, I should have had supervision.
An ex bf of mine and his brother fell for the "Rockefeller" scam. They lost about 8k total.

What's this?

Basically this guy claimed he was the illegitimate son of Rockefeller and that he had money in a bank account is Switzerland. All the guy needed was money for plane fare and accommodations and he would give them 3 times as much money as they loaned him. So, the ex and his brother kept shelling out money for them. There was always some kind of excuse for why they didn't get to go to Switzerland, and this went on for about a year.

None. I almost got screwed by some jackass on ebay, but I got my money back. Actually quite a nice experience w/ ebay customer service despite other stories.

~$300 back in 2000/2001

Bought a 20"+ CRT monitor on eBay... unit arrived dead, seller unresponsive, paid for by USPS money order.

$40 to Tiger Direct for a Soyo barebones computer rebate. I've since bought from them without issue but will never buy with a rebate again.

$300

Seller had a lot of feedback and everything. Paid for it through Paypal, never got my stuff sent, filed a dispute, found out the seller got their accout hijacked and paypal didn't give me one cent back. Great buyer protection.
