The NJ area you drive around on the Turnpike from NY and also anywhere near the NJ Int'l Airport.. all that area looks pretty "industrial". I know there are suburbs that are quite nice, but that area doesn't paint a nice picture for visitors.

Here in Crestview, FL it would have to be around the older McDonalds. Of course ghetto here means the homes are older than 20 years. There really isn't a ghetto anywhere around these neck of the woods.

West End in Atlanta. My mother-in-law has a restraunt and a hair salon down there.

East side is pretty rough around Drouillard Road... West side is pretty rough around Peter Street...

then again, downtown isn't the most glamorous either... :/

edit: if i wanted to see REALLY rough areas, i could always head over the Ambassador Bridge to Detroit and immediately hang a right... :Q

North central'ish Omaha is I guess what it would be. Seems like there is a daily blurb on the news about a stabbing or attempted shooting there.

Yeah, North O is pretty rough. I don't even like driving around there. Don't forget the occasional body they pull out of Carter Lake. It's a shame, as there's some fantastic old houses in that area.
South Omaha has a bit of hispanic gang activity as well. The street I used to live on usually had a few shootings per year (a block away from the elementary school, too :()

Last couple of places where I've lived, the ghetto areas are usually centered around any street called MLK.
