whats the fastest you've ever driven or been driven?

Only probably something in the low 80s, and only by mistake when I gained more speed than I realized in a 65MPH zone.

Guess I don't live on the wild side like everyone else. Then again, I've never driven in an deserted area. Long car trips are up and down I-95, and every street I'm on is either a busy 4-lane highway or a crowded 2-lane residential area.

Fastest i ever drove was 145-150 ish
Interstate 87 North,
{locally called the Northway} 1979 or so.

Car was a 1968 GTX, 440 cid,375 hp 4 speed with 3:23 gears.
it had a 150 speedo and the guy behind me started to yell,hey the speedo is buried,Man!
{the car had a 150 mph speedo}

We were going to a concert at Glens Falls Civic Center,

Second fastest was 2 years ago,on Interstate 88 in my 1967 Camaro,about 140 mph,
that car had a 160 mph speedo,and had a 427 bigblock,4 speed,3:31 rear gears.

I buried the speedo on my current car,1964 Valiant,V8,but it only goes to 110mph.

Just this last summer was taken up almost to 160mph in a modded stage 2 SRT-4.. it was pretty much top speed for the car.

In 1999, back country road by my old High School. About 11:30 at night. In winter. Yes, I was an idiot. And yes, I know it's strange that the fastest I've ever driven was in the slowest car I've owned.

914: ~90 on I-75 in Wood County Ohio
924S: ~90, same place as above.
944: ~95, back road in Wood County Ohio

All other cars have been in daylight.

120 in a Honda Civic coming back from Las Vegas with 5 people in the car. Friends were totally freaked out and wanted me to slow down. My friend, the owner of the car, was totally quiet the whole time. I think she was scared sh!tless. Crazy ride!! Not to mention the other stuff that was going on in the backseat...:shocked:

90mph on I-95, but i think the speedometer is a bit off because i was being passed by like everyone

150+ in my old 1976 Trans Am. 2.41 gears, it was still accelerating. Can't remember the highway number, but it's the freeway that goes to Morehead City, NC. Been 130-140 many, many times.

140+ in my race truck, but when it was on the street. My dad was clocked at 152 in it by a NC highway patrolman. Both of thiese incidents were on the Raleigh, NC Beltline.....now known as I-440.

150 exactly in a friend's 94 Vette. I-85/40 between Greensboro and Burlington, NC. He was driving. Car was still accelerating, hard. Supercharged engine, no telling how fast it would have run....was only in 5th gear at that point, and wasn't anywhere near the redline.

No, your speedo is probably right, that's just the way 95 is. If you're running less than 80 in the left lane, you're subject to get run over.
