I got pulled over at 153 by a cop it was shear intervention from god that I Wasn't jailed

it was 2:00 am I was 16. I had stolen my parents car during the night.

I was so toast. he was asking for my lisence when the speaker on his car went nuts, she looked at me and said" You are one lucky son of a bitch if I ever catch you speeding a gain I WILL jail you."

That's 386km/h. I didn't know standard Mercedes can go that fast :Q

Assuming coefficients don't change, it takes sixteen times the power to go 240mph compared to 60mph. So if takes 25hp to keep the car at constant speed at 60mph, you need 400hp to maintain 240mph.

uhh.. no its 240 km/hr.. clicks=kilometers...

117 in a 1993 subaru impreza L awd.

1.8L H4
HP=110
torque=110 lb-ft
curb weight=2555

EDIT: I was going west on 401 in ontario, a very straight, flat, and nearly empty highway.

Whata buncha slowpokes. :p

Gotta say though that speed is relative to some degree. I suspect 100+ in a minivan is really, really fast compared to the same speed on a sport bike.

You haven't seen danger until you've pushed a 1988 Ford Escort up to 100MPH on a highway. It took it about 3 miles to get up to that speed, and I have to guess at the speed because the speedo only goes up to 85 :)

My new car goes a lot faster, but I can't afford another speeding ticket to find out exactly fast it can go.

Hey that's all the faster that bike would go :( I'd be happy to set a new personal best.......all I need is your bike :D

Somewhere around 150 on my Triumph Daytona....not sure of the exact speed as motorcycle speedos are notoriously optimistic at higher speeds.;)

Welcome to 'outside of America' where most people use the metric system. That's 240km/h.

A passenger plane doesn't need to go that fast before take off. I think it's around 80-150 mph for take-off, depending on the size and weight of the plane. 275mph for a plane with it's weight would melt it's tires or fall apart before it could reach that speed.

Thanks, I hate you!

It seemed alot faster then that...

150mph in my SVX. Using GPS, my speedo read 156. It's a '92, the first production year and it has no limiter on it, but 93-97 has a 145 limiter.

Man I regularly go 100 on accident because it just doesn't feel like i'm going that fast. But my friends got a 79 land cruiser and going 50 in that feels like going 150 in my car.
