Whats the fastest you have ever been on a motorcycle?

just over 130 on a 83 gpz750 with dry rotted tires. Good thing I got rid of that thing long ago and never got another bike.

I had a pair of 49cc Yamaha Razz scooters in college - an '87, and an '89. The fastest I ever got them was somewhere between 33 - 35 mph going slightly downhill. Usual top end cruising speed on level ground was roughly 30 - 31. Unfortunately, that's the closest thing to a motorcycle I've ever owned. 🙁

Was fun fixing them though - at one point, I had a ground floor apartment with a sliding door, so I'd break down boxes, lay them all over the carpet, and wheel them inside my living room to work on. 😀 This was especially nice in the winter. Yes, I rode them year-round, although they didn't run that great when it was really cold out.

I've thought many times since then about getting a real bike, but the complete retardedness of the drivers out here has always made me reconsider. Maybe one day though.

I think it's interesting that some here say going extremely fast on a bike is easier 'feeling' than a car. Most of the people I have talked to around here that ride say speeding on a bike feels like you are gong much faster than a car...you are experiencing everything directly...wind, the road flying by, feeling of passing 'things', etc.

Normal reaction for somone who hasn't ridden a newer high-displacement sport bike ... if you havn't experienced it theres no way to describe it that does it justice. (keep in mind that the ZX-12's top-end is somwhere around 195 mph stock)

My bike is a 2001 Suzuki GSF1200S Bandit which is a relative dog compared to that ZX-12 or a Hyabusa & its still VERY easy to do 125-130 without realizing it.

Its not that its easier to handle the speed its that a large sport bike gets up to 150+ so quickly theres no time to think about it ... in addition as I said earlier a full sport-fairing blocks almost all of the wind when you lean forward on the tank.

Most big bore bikes do 0 - 60 MPH in three seconds or less. Hitting 170 wouldn't take all that long.

I saw an indicated 120 mph on my Kawi Z750. I had the bike about 2 weeks and wanted to see how it felt to go "really fast". It was OK until I passed a car like it was standing still, then I cursed myself out and slowed the hell down.

140mph for a split second on a VFR 750.
3-4 mile straight away sheltered by tall pine trees for no cross wind.

Fastest I ever rode sustained speed (say over 10 seconds) was about 110 on a very large highway.
