A "neocon" in P&N terms is anyone a Liberal doesn't agree with. You see, they seem to think it's an all-purpose derogatory word for the right.

And the word "liberal" isn't the same for the neocons (and for a lot longer)? Let's not be too hypocritical, CAD... 😉
No, "liberal" is not an all-purpose derogatory word. The left seems to shy away from it for whatever reasons though. Liberal is a broad ideological term - just like Conservative.
I am proud to be be a Conservative and embrace it, I'm not sure why more liberals don't embrace their ideology -they seem to want to change the name all the time and not admit they are a liberal.

Ah, CAD... the doublethink is still strong with you.

Neocon is some label that the press started using because they could not pronounce conservative! Besides, it sounds meaner and more down to the earth so poor undereducated sixpack liberals can understand it.

No, neoconservative, and conservative, have little in common.

I agree 3chord...neocons have very little to do with conservatives.
It really bugs me how ppl think conservative = republican 😛

CAD, you have a strange habit of confusing "dave schmitt" with "liberals."

Funny, a smart guy like you confusing the singular and plural.

And the reason that liberals sometimes shy away from the word is that in the current political discourse (and wehn I say current i mean the last 20 years) "liberal" has almost become a dirty word.

Which is really funy, since in many countries, it is synonmous with old-school Republican values.

Thais is exactly right. All these other definitions/assertions are just lefty name calling tactics.

NeoConservative: The philosophical position of the One when he gets sick and tired of providing handouts to all those welfare-cheating, laid-off Agents.
