<< In short, conservatives want to save your soul from yourself through law, and liberals want to save your body from yourself, through law. >>

This is my second post asking for specific instances where Conservatives as a group proposed any ban that would take away and right. I might ask that of the whole Republican Party, but as Conservatives are but a sub-group in the party, I'd bet you cannot name one instance.

Oh? That is your only lame attempt? LOL! I'll bet you most Liberals are against it on our shores as well as most anyone with a brain or even a shred of morals. I'd be for bringing it up to the Popular Vote...what a crock!

You've got no idea...AT ALL!

You know, that's funny. But I recall you and I agreeing on more threads than not. Does that mean you have no idea either?

That's right. If you are going to make a difference, you MUST BELONG to a group. To do that in ANY way is to ignore some of part of the groups fault. Everyone does it or you would never have a friend.

The sad part of it is that the American Voter has come to expect some handouts regardless of which party they choose to associate with. It is a political neccessity! Some choose to be fence-sitters [moderates] waiting to see which way the wind blows or like many here too full of themselves to let reality take seed. They spout off with no hope at all belonging to any group that has the guts to actually do something. They go through life bitching and moaning yet unable to make a decision and stick to it for fear of failing.

BTW, you better thank whatever it is you pray to that our rights are not subject to popular vote.

A democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner. :)

Being part of the group of Lemmings running full speed towards the end of a cliff is not an admirable trait Tom.

I don't have to belong to the most popular of two groups to make a difference. All I need to do is threaten their supremacy and change their priorities.

Thankfully, the religious right portion of the republican party has been slapped down for now. You know why? The last three elections has shown that supporting them, lost the republicans votes. If it weren't for the religious right influence, few would have jumped ship for Ross, and fewer would be voting libertarian.

At any rate, most libertarians vote republican... with a vote here and there for democrats when the local republican party has been over run by religious zealots and starts banning books in local schools, and posting their religious drivel all over public property. Thankfully for your party, most libertarian republicans are staying with the party, and trying to change it from the inside.

Now, why was my example so short: I've got a cat on my lap. I adopted the neighborhood stray after he beat the snot out of the neighbor's german shepard. I figured if it can do that, it'll protect me :)

Because these folks still feel the Rs stick to their party platform and they believe third-parties are just not viable. Not necessarily a bad thing if the Rs prove they do indeed stick to their party platform which is close to the libertarian. Too bad they need to prove this and too bad we even need to ask this quesiton.

If the Republicans were able to shake the religious zealots out of their party they'd be much more appealing to the mainstream.

I've been doing that through letters to mt reps since I was 18.

No, thjey have less voice because many of those religious right folks told them to shut the hell up. Me and my family for instance. Yes, they are continually demoguged and taken out of context by fearful left wing zealots..and it seems you believe them.

So you are for unregulated access for children in our Public Libraries? Shouldn't best sellers be included in the selection our Public Libraries offer? Ask for Al Gore's or Hillery Clinton's books and you will find multiple copies. Both dismal failures. Ask for Rush Limbaugh or Dr. Laura titles, record setting best sellers.....for the most part they are not there! Who is proposing to ban books....and who has done it? Religeous Drivel? Would you let the New York City School System distribute pamplets promoting the Gay lifestyle? They ended with the phrase "...now lube up and have a good time." This isn't religeous fanatiscism. They WERE published! If not for a public outcry by RELIGOUS PEOPLE you might be seeing them in YOUR children's school. The pamplets were less that 2 weeks from distribution. But isn't that denying FREE SPEECH oh Libertarian One?

I think you'd know me better than this by now. And besides, your next paragraph kinda proves my point.

It's up to the parents to regulate what their child does. Not government. World proof your child, don't child proof the world.

<< Ask for Al Gore's or Hillery Clinton's books and you will find multiple copies. Both dismal failures. Ask for Rush Limbaugh or Dr. Laura titles, record setting best sellers.....for the most part they are not there! >>

Well, donate some to your local library. Don't just sit around and whine.

Unlike you, I'm not the least bit afraid of me, or my children being "turned" gay. It's absurd.

There is no such thing as a world proof kid. That is ludicrous at best.

My taxes already by all the books. It is not because they are not available, it is because Liberals state what books can and cannot be bought and therefore read. I see a bias, you don't?

So that [distributing pro gay pamplets with how tos included at taxpayers expense] is OK, but the Ten Commadments are taboo? Warped reasoning to be sure.

Hey Tom, there's no doubt that Liberals are whack but is that any excuse for Conservatives to be whack too? You might not be and many like you might not be but it seems those who annoint themselves spokesperson for the Conservatives see a Liberal Conspiracy everywhere they look.

Yeah Tom, It's much better to go through life without any conviction about anything, or the courage to stand for something. It 's much better to just bad mouth everyone and tell yourself how enlightened and intelligent you are and how everyone else is just a lemming.

SOOOOOO not true. It is nearly universal that the conservative right are the ones that lobby against certain books being read.
