What's the deal with chicken wings?

I haven't found a single food that goes well with beer. Pretzels need something sweet, pizza needs something sweet and carbonated, wings need water or sweet and carbonation..

Maybe I just don't like beer that much..

Is there any food you do like with beer?

Nuts?

??? chicken wings from the supermarket is like 3 dollars a lb.

Just got back from another shopping trip. Three things I learned:

1. Intact wings are $2.49/lb, just didn't look as good as the ones I bought
2. The ones I bought (sans drumettes) were still less than $3/lb
3. I consumed ~2x as much in weight than I assumed was in that package yesterday.

lulz. Now you know how expensive wings are when they are from restaurants. And you are buying wings paying retail while they pay wholesale.

Actually the total cost, when I include the oil & sauce, makes me feel less ripped off at restaurants.

Though to your point, they reuse oil, make sauce for nothing, & I assume the reason mine are tasting so much better in terms of crispiness & tenderness isn't because they don't know how to fry them, but in buying wholesale as you mention they might not get as fresh or quality meat. IDK. But whatever the reason, these are better- almost worth stinking up my kitchen (hate the smell after frying shit).

I fry outside on the side cooker of the grill when it is possible. I don't fry stuff inside if I can help it. Baked are good too.

This might be news to you white people, but other people actually like to eat the other parts of the chicken.

Except the breast. Not sure if you're ***pensating for something, but I really can't see why anyone would willingly eat chicken breast when the rest of the chicken is there.

Well I'm a white American and I've never understood the fascination. There are plenty of other things to enjoy with beer that don't involve such a poor meat to nasty bit ratio, sauce be damned (you heard me!)

In my opinion it's all about them thighs baby. Give them a rub, or marinate them a little maybe, then bake them in a muffin pan so they stew in their own fatty juices. I'll drain them off a little at the end and maybe crank it so they crisp a little more. I serve them as is after resting with mixed veg and potatoes, or sometimes I'll separate the meat and mix it with a portion of diced crisp skin as stuffing in a big ass sandwich.

Also, the only good breast is kind that comes with it's skin and fat intact. It can be done and done deliciously, it's just way too easy to screw it up if you start with the "flawed version" of bird boob.
