It isn't just the type of meat, or the meat-sauce ratio.

But also that it is finger food. Thighs and Breasts require forks to eat. You have to peel the meat out and it eat it. Wings, you just grab and chow down.

That's part of it too.

Bone-in, traditional wings are just magical all the way around. No getting around it. No substitutions.

Who says you can't just grab a breast and chow down? :awe:

It's the sauce as mentioned repeatedly. That said, I'd prefer they apply the sauce to other parts. like Thighs.

I like hot wings on Sunday during 49er games.
Frozen wings, 45 minutes @ 450 = crispy yummyness

It goes well with beer, it's simple, delicious. Formula that goes well with sports.

Both thighs and legs work as finger food too. You can pick them up, gnaw the meat off the bone and lick the sauce off your fingers just like you do with wings.

I can't read the thread title without hearing it in a bad Seinfeld impression.

And drumettes are way better than wings!

The wings are what enable the chickens to fly. People got the idea into their head that the chicken wings will give them special powers, therefore, they have become very popular over the last couple of decades.

Most companies chill the chicken in a water bath which washes away some of the flavor. Smartchicken brand uses air chilling so their product has more taste.

I always liked chicken wings. I never got the white person fixation with chicken breast. Probably the worst part of the whole chicken.

it's part of the low fat fad the .gov foisted upon us about 30 years ago.

Thank... YOU, OP. Not that I don't like wings, but the fucking things make my hands and face so messy after just 4 or 5, and mind you I'm also a picky eater so there are some "parts" on the wings that I will also eat around or pick off so to speak, so I don't "clean" my wings like everyone else around me seems to love doing. But whatever.

A seasoned veteran of the wing scene will place the entire drumstick in their mouth and suck the meat off with no mess!

Seriously though, I eat every single part of the wing except the bone. The cartilage, yep that too.
