what's the best way to keep Krispy Kreme overnight so it won't go bad ?

Well, the actual process is mix the batter(from sugar, flour, ect, provided by KK corporate), dump it into a device that measure and cuts them to a certain specification depending on the type of donut, then they travel through a "riser" for 45 minutes to make the dough rise. After that they go through the boiler on one side, get flipped, boiled on the other side, and then go through the glazer. After the glazer you see them coming around the conveyer belt where the workers pick them off and either box them up for you, or box them in preperartion for wholesale delivery.

I don't know how you could consider the process "gross". If anything it's very automated and "clean" where the only time you have any real human intervention is in the dough mixing and finally when they are boxed.

You can see the process from the riser onward at our local KK. I like it when they lady is scraping the hardened glaze off the edges and tops of the coater so it falls back into the mix to get remelted and redeposited onto the donuts.

MMMMMMmmmmm.... recycled glaze!

(I know it shouldn't matter, but the idea still bothers me for some reason.)

My favorite Krispy Kreme just closed down...in the home state of KK too!! I don't know about you, but I find a store closing to be quite bizarre, given the company's rapid success and expansion nationwide and into international markets. I guess the lower-than-expected earnings and recent stock decline really show the company is losing sales.
