Hyundais are great cars, (perhaps not from the performance perspective) but with that warranty, you can't go wrong.

But you can get lower priced 4 cycl camrys and accords for under 20 grand fairly easily...you won't get the options and warranty you get on a hyundai, but you will get a better "name" plate...which is important to many people.

And don't buy a used car, you get a bad one and you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

I would take a quality 2 year old used car over a hyundai any day of the week.

edit: You should also take into consideration resale value. Take a look at how much older hyundai's are going for (and any other car you are considering) before you make your purchase.

this thread is turning into a flame thread. all i want is advice on a car, and some of you have done that and i thank you.

Well, now that that is settled 😉

Are you looking for a V6? Auto or manual transmission, etc. What kind of features do you want?? Would you rather get a low-end mid-size or a loaded compact?

You've got to give us more to go on 😀

You say tomatoe, I say tomatoe.

It's a car to say this is a truck IMO is like saying a front wheel drive car is a sports car.

It's just my opinion that a portstrac os the best untilitarian car for around 20K. Of course he should test drive all the recomendations we provided and make his own choice based on his needs.

Save up another 4k and get a WRX. 🙂

Other than that I have only drove 1 hyundai and it was a tyberon. ( don't know how to spell that) And I am a little over 6 foot 3 and there is no way I could fit in the car with out my legs killing me.

I have a question, why do people call turbo and super charged 4 cylinder cars rice burners? They burn the same amount of fule as cars with larger engines. They just don't wast as much by being naturaly asperated.

The Accord. From Honda.

You can get an 2002 LX sedan out the door for around $17K. So what if you have to get an Accord with a 4cyl and not a V6? If you buy a cheaper compact, you're still getting a 4cyl. Plus, when you step up to Accord/Camry level you are getting a lot more refinement. More room, comfort and safety and typically cheaper insurance.

You can never go wrong with an Accord V6 🙂, a used one for around 20K. I would rather buy a used Accord than a brand new Sonata.

NFS4, you miss the point of the Sport Trac, it's for folks to take their Latvian Elk Hound to the vet.

I have yet to see anything in the bed of a Sport Trac, hell, I have yet to see evidence of anything ever being in the bed of a Sport Trac. They all would have been better off with an Explorer or a pickup, or dare I say it, a V6 car with a trailer when needed.

LOL, you'd be hard pressed to find anything in the back of a pickup around these parts except for Mexicans...😛😀

I laugh only b/c it's true 😀
