I haven't been running linux long, so it still needs some tweaking.

Well... I REALLY wanted to use Weather Underground as the source for the data.

Accuweather is fine, if you live in a hotel at the local airport, but it doesn't accurately reflect what's going on in the burbs. If you'll pardon the pun, Weather Underground is fly!

I've been thinking about installing a Wunderground PWS, here at the abode, then I can supply my own data! :sneaky:

Anyway, in the meantime, Accuweather, it is...

I haven't given up on Weather Underground yet. Got any suggestions on how to do it?!?!?

I just poked around the gadget folder, and nothing is jumping out at me. It looks like it's largely in Javascript, and perhaps the data sources are obfuscated? I'm not seeing any urls that are in plain text or anything, and opening the Java bits in Notepad++ shows calls to things that look relevant, but have ordinary names. I don't know enough about this stuff to retrieve the information :^(

Edit:
See if this page is of any use...

http://weather.weatherbug.com/deskt...yland&zip=21047&city_name=Fallston&stat=FLLST

You may be able to create a widget, then extract the needed information from that.

Nothing popped out at me either. It's a nice website, though!

I'm happy enough with my present setup. It freed up some space on my Gnome Panel (got rid of the clock/weather).

And, while if was Google'ing Weatherbug, I ran across code that sucks sunrise/sunset times from Accuweather.

I'm getting carried away with Conky now -- just like usual -- so, I think I'll quit while I'm ahead.

My desktop is on the cusp of being too busy...

I like Vin's the best. The one in the OP is just... weird. I don't think I have Linux up on any of my computers anymore. The best I can do is OpenBSD, and it doesn't have X on it.

I remember Enlightenment used to be the bomb-diggity, but it was often too resource intensive. :p

I'm running E17 (Macpup Opera 2) on a circa 1999 emachine e-Tower 667ix (Intel Celeron with 192mb RAM).

88mb RAM is still free, sitting at the desktop...

Heh! No kidding!

If I'm not mistaken...

Enlightenment is Nothinman's favorite desktop environment, and he doesn't like much... :D
