Tapwater. Seriously. Bottled water is for stupid people with things to waste their money on. I wish I could be so stupid to waste my money on things like bottled water.

I would agree with you if you live in a place with decent tapwater. When I was living in Brooklyn, I didn't mind drinking the tapwater. NYC overall has very good tapwater, which means it doesn't have any taste and the overall consistency of the water is as it should be. In the suburbs where I'm living now, I absolutely can't stand the tap water. It has a nasty type of taste and I'm pretty sure (if I remember from a report correctly) that it has higher numbers of toxic chemicals like heavy metals, though it's still within the "safe" range. I'm not sure whether the addition of fluoride to NYC's tap water is a good thing, though.Originally posted by: soccerballtux

Can you taste the fluoride? I'm not sure if I've tried it. It's beneficial to your teeth isn't it?

No, can't taste it. It does help prevent tooth decay, from what I hear, but I've read conflicting articles on whether there are any side effects to adding fluoride, since fluoride is toxic.

Eh, pretty much everything is toxic if you consume too much of it, even *gasp!* water.![]()
