Chances are they're past season hence the lowered pricetag.
Diesel jeans are a status quo thing.
You can get much better quality jeans at 1/2 to 2/3 the price...and also from other designers, nothing of the Target/Walmart variety. I mean, Banana Republic jeans run $80 regular price but you can get them at $30-$50 all the time. My current favorite is a pair of Lucky brand jeans that I paid $40 for, not because of the brand but because it fits very nicely and is super comfortable. I regretted not picking up a second identical pair when I had the chance

yah they are past season afaik, but I'm not anal enough to know/care about seasons haha. A good jean is a good jean.

Any designer clothing is purely status and looks. A pair of Levi's will 'function' as well. However; alot of designer jeans do have extra stitching and plates/etc on them. About 75% of it is the name though.
First though is most people that question the cost either wouldn't be shopping for three figure jeans or would prefer wool trousers over expensive denim or simply prefer a brand of jeans.

You don't have to buy the jeans with the wild display of trend on them. Just find some with an interesting wash, a high-quality denim (that much is obvious) and see if they fit well. The industry of boutique jeans can get a little out of control, but I don't think paying ~$100-200 for a great pair of jeans to be unreasonable.

For sure, I get all kinds of hot chicks tell me about my guess/nudie/diesel/replay jeans.
Not only do they look better, they are of better craftsmanship/quality BY FAR.

BS. Wrangles and all other redneck jeans are poor quality and unstructured, stretch and fall apart in a few months.
Too bad you don't know anything about denim. It's also unfortunate that you had tried on a bad pair or can't fit into them properly :/.
not shrink, cheap jeans stretch out two or three sizes after oen week. They are not dense enough to keep the structure. You end up paying more in the long run and look like a bum in the process.
yeah. He is probably mistaken or lying. But if they are post season obscure sizes, it might be possible.

Do you not realize how much profit there is (for all parties) in a $200 pair of jeans? It's about $190. It's entirely possible that Costco could sell them for $85. They don't pay inflated prices to their suppliers, and they don't sell their products for more than 15% profit.
Uhh, I own an equal number of Lee/Levi's/Wrangler jeans (I believe you guys call these Wal-Mart brands?) and the rivets and stitches have never spontaneously fallen apart like you like to believe, Casio.
they don't fall apart, they are low quality. They stretch fast and lack density. Do I have to give you common denim knowledge?

I do think that quite often with clothes you do getter better quality with the fancier names. That being said there does seem to come a point where that diminishes. I am a Banana Republic whore and I think their price, quality, and design hits the sweet spot for me. I am constantly getting positive remarks on the choice of clothing because the quality is noticeable. I suppose I pay around $70 for a pair of Banana Republic jeans, but they always fit great and have tremendous quality. That being said I do think it would be tough for me to justify spending $200 on a pair of jeans, but I wouldn't fault somebody for that if they have the means to do so.
Everyone loves me in real life. I actually have real life friends instead of only forum friends like you do. Frankly everyone loves me here except the flamers over in Console gaming that are just spiteful and jealous with envy.
I'm not impressing anyone. I wear high quality things because that's who I am. Some people can't tell the difference b/w denim and some people like you will say I'm stupid for owning an Omega timepiece instead of a Casio watch. They both tell time.
That's what separates you and I. I don't eat garbage, wear garbage or live in garbage. Some people aren't as privileged as I am to have these things which is alright, as long as they say that they can see a difference between better food, clothing, merchandise, etc.
People who say Diesel are the same as hobo jeans, well, pretty sad especially since they simply can't comprehend the difference in quality nevertheless the difference in style. But we can't all have a developed sense of style.

My brother raves about his diesel jeans. But it's an image thing opposed to actually being a better pair of jeans. He thinks he looks better in the diesel jeans. If that's all it takes for someone to feel better about themselves, maybe they're worth the cash.
I have my brother's old pair of levi's. Most comfortable jeans I've ever had. And my wife thinks my butt looks good in them. I guess that's all that counts.

honestly, can you not see the difference in the stitching, cross hatching, pocket designs, cut, wash, indigo, etc????
