they are actually extremely well made. So much better as to be worth $150 or so? No. But compared to say GAP jeans, they are really well made and have more stitches and thicker material.

bullshit, it's Japanese denim, it says so right on the Denim specs sheet. Nudies and Diesel and Replay all use Japanese denim.

Yeah, and the $5 watch I bought on the street in Hong Kong says "Rolex".

i bought some old navy boot cut jeans for ~ $20. They look better than some of those designer jeans that go for several hundred.

I don't care how much your jeans cost. Most girls don't care how much your jeans cost. I just buy the $20 Mark's Work Warehouse jeans, and they last longer than the $200 and up jeans. If your worried about them becoming smaller or bigger, buy a belt. Buy them 1 size big or 1 size small and get a feel for them. And when it really comes down to it, most people who buy their jeans for a labor job aren't gonna go pay $200 for the designer jean that's just gonna get wrecked anyway.

Here's to your, mrlumberjack *cracks open a Budweiser.

And I dont' know about your 'neck of the woods' but I guess I should have specified that PRETTY girls do care how a man outfits himself.

$200 jeans would outlast $20 jeans x10 even if you are a plumber and quit pretending that you own $200 jeans and can tell the difference.

Wow, all the girls I date like how I don't spend all my money on a pair of jeans and spend it with them. I've had $200 jeans and $20 jeans, and under my usage(heavy mountain biking, gardening, spring skiing and general DIY around the house) the $20 jeans will outlast the $200 jeans.

No they won't. Never in a million years would $20 outlast $200. It would be unfortunate though to garden in $200 jeans.

and every classy girl cares about how her man dresses.

what's your point? Crack it open and there is nothing inside that Rolex other than a cheap timex watch. What does that have to do with authentic specs sheet....?

I would have to disagree in that I have found most women may not necessarily care how much a pair of jeans cost however most woman (compared to guys) do have a keener fashion sense and therefore would notice nicer quality clothes. I think it is probably a reasonable thing to say that when all things are held equal, most women would prefer a guy that looks like how he knows how to put himself together as opposed to looking like a slob.

Also that is a pretty dumb argument comparing $20 'labor job' jeans with $200 fashion jeans. Good Lord, you wouldn't do gardening (or other labor activities) in a suit, would you?

They care about themselves more than they do me. I think they would rather have a nice dinner at a good restaraunt than McDonalds because I spent all my money on jeans. Plus if I date a girl, I don't want her to be inspecting my jeans to see what brand they are. I don't really care what she thinks, but if I get a nice pair of jeans it gets the same use as a regular pair of jeans in my book. There's no difference.

Jeans are jeans. If they're made to be worn, I'll wear them and do what I normally do in them.

so you normally do heavy gardening? And no, the one who has Diesel's would NEVER eat at BK or mcdonalds. And she's going to inspect what jeans/clothing you wear either way, that's how the world works, get used to it.

This isn't to rag on you in particular, but I think this is a pretty particular male trait; not really 'getting' the entire fashion thing.

You would wear different shirts based on where you are and where you are going, right? Not going to wear that flannel shirt tucked into some dress pants for a wedding, are you? You have different shirts, pants, jackets for different occasions. Likewise you can have *gasp* different jeans for different occasions. How is this too difficult to grasp?

Something I think you are missing is that how you present yourself to others - how you act, talk, and dress - is a whole part of you. Also you probably should care about what the girl thinks - just a FYI for the next time you go out on a date.

If your choice is between affording to eat or buying nice jeans, then duh don't buy the way expensive jeans - but that is just how you are, which there is nothing wrong with it.
However if somebody has the disposable income to buy Diesel jeans, then more power to them.

By way of a personal note, I personally do not purchase Diesel, or other, jeans for $200 because while I make a decent living I just can't justify that as an expense. However I do buy Banana Republic jeans that are $70-$90 a pair - and I absolutely love them.

You are wasting your breath.
Also, I don't like banana jeans because they have stupid manufactured knee honeycombs and washes. Also no detailing on the pockets.

If you are already willing to spend $90 on them, wait for Diesel to have a sale and you can snag some for the same price. if not go with guess jeans.

I do agree with you having the odd pair for special occasions, but $200 is a little steep for a special occasion. I like the Banana Republic jeans and I understand that it's a hard thing to get fashion into my thick dumb skull. But sometimes you only have the $200 pair of jeans and you have to work, or do something so they get some use. I just don't like people pushing that their the Holy Grail of jeans.
