What's so special about Diesel jeans?

I saw some of these at Costco, and they were $85 a pair. Who pays that for jeans?

They are expensive, therefore they are great.

Seriously, you could slap a designer label on a $10 pair of jeans and people would still buy them up for $150+

Nothing really catches my eye about them. The cotton quality and stitching quality is ok; it's better than say, Express's but it all depends on how much money you're willing to part with and how much quality you want out of jeans.

Me, personally, I don't go for them. I don't want jeans that just look like any other, I like it when they go a little above and beyond with styles and design. Just Cavalli is a good example.

But to answer your question, it's really about material/production/and style quality.

some people, yes. other people like to buy jeans that look nice and stay nice, and we don't mind paying a premium for that ;)

Well Ecko just bought Bonds HR ball for 750K, so Im assuming the Diesel guy has to buy something equally stupid.

i think very few people would, those that do deserve what they get

i spend whatever it costs to get jeans that look great and fit well, whether that means $29.95 at AE or $74.99 at Banana Republic

i certainly have found that the $80 jeans (and polos) i buy at BR hold up to constant washing/drying/ironing without fading or shrinking much better than other, cheaper brands that i own

Diesel jeans really fit nice. I had one pair that I wore to go to the Dominican Republic a few years back, and some @sshole stole it from my window. Damn pants cost me $120...lol.

If I made as much money today as I did then, I'd have a few pairs. Right now, my favorite jeans are Guess Premium Boot Cut. They run ~$80 bucks a pair, and fit great and last quite long.

I went to Nordstroms a few months ago and tried on a $200 pair of 7's. Damn they were the most comfortable pair of jeans ever, but I think it was more of a psychological thing since higher price = greater happiness.

I have over 20 pairs that I purchased at or mostly above retail price because I wear a small size. Probably have owned more than that though at some point, but I unload them on ebay and etc when some pairs seem to get no wear. I don't particularly think they fit any more comfortably than whatever else brand but buy them because I do. Any douche bag that's going to be raving about diesel's and stating that he wears diesel jeans to defend himself is pretty pathetic though..

http://www.honestforum.com/diesel/ has a wealth of information on the brand (Probably the number one diesel discussion forum on the internet). Most everyone (including myself) is quite helpful and knowledgeable since we all keep up with each current season.

Fit? Go try a bunch of them. Designer brands can have completely BS styles and fits. Just go with one that suits you properly.

I've tried on some pricey Diesel jeans they were in the most BS design ever. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole...

As with all premium brands of clothes, equipment etc you have a law of diminishing returns. I wouldn't get the disel jeans I saw for their prices or even at half price. They were crap!

I do have some nice jeans and they do wear better then cheaper brands. Levi do some nice stuff for cost and quality.
