What's scarier, bungee jumping or skydiving?

what's scarier for people who have minor/severe acrophobia?

i think bungee jumping would be scarier because you can see the ground. the clouds block your view when you're skydiving, not to mention the time it takes to hit the ground is much longer for skydiving.

either way, if something goes wrong you're dead.
Yeah, but you'll more likely survive and feel a lot more pain if the Bungi jumping fails.

Not to mention that you lose a bit of perspective when jumping from 10,000 to 30,000 ft. above the ground. Reality sets in quick when you climb the ladder or stairs for a bungee jump.

I've never bungee jumped, but I can imagine that would be scarier. Skydiving isn't that bad because you can't really tell how high up you are.

i actually did bungee jumped head first before. it was a blast! and no i am not phobic. i fly a lot and am looking forward to skydive! 😀

bungee jumping, why? because you jump, and caught by a cord meters before you can hit the ground. skydiving, you pull the cord and float back to earth 1000+ feet up

i would sky dive before bungi jumping
i think sky divers are more "professional" about safety and stuff

I would think bungee jumping, because you don't slow down before your close to the ground. When you skydive, don't you usually pull the cord for the parachute long before you get close to the ground? Seems like it would be peaceful to be gliding down like that! 😀

isn't it common for people to live most of the time if their chute doesn't work? dispite serious possible injuries

1. You can still see the ground at around 13,500'.
2. The clouds don't block your view...if the cloud cover is that heavy, the dropzones generally don't allow people to jump...some clouds, yes but not completely obstructing your view.

Personally, I'd never bungee jump but I'm completing my AFF course (levels 6 & 7) this weekend (weather permitting).

i've done both.

bungee jumping is scarier because you're alone. walking to the edge of a platform and looking down is scary.

with skydiving, you;re strapped to a professional. that gives you reassurance.

Not to be too sarcastic, but the ignorance is strong with this one.

Dang, JEDI, what the heck am I doing wrong? My instructors keep letting me go during freefall and the whole time I should be strapped to a professional? 😉

(Not all skydives are tandem btw.)

I ave to do either.
But I plan on doing both soon, as I'm 18 and don't need any parental forms signed for parachuting as I'm 18. 😀

What about freefalling onto a big air float, like in the movies where the suicidal guy jumps from a building top onto the firefighter tarp? In that case you actually do touch ground (well, u know what i mean) at full speed.

Are there companies that actually let you jump from 30,000 ft? Wouldn't you need oxygen?

I've been skydiving. I will never go bungee jumping.

Sky diving you are at least in soem control. you can steer the chute and such. You have a reserve chute if the primary fails, etc.
Bungee jumping you just have to pray that the equipment is good and the right length and such. But then if it snaps, you're toast. No backup.

1st timers usually are in tandam. you pay extra to jump alone. then you have 2 skydiviers with you when you jump. (one to each side)
