Elite used to mean that you knew the numbers of several pirate BBS's, and had accounts on them, or you were in several IRC software piracy groups.

As for now, I don't think the word has any meaning, because anyone can point their browser at www.somepiratesite.com and leech all they want. Now that I look back on those days, I see how &quot;lame&quot; it truly was and how much more &quot;lame&quot; it has now become.
