I'd have to say consider Canada, it's a great place, been living here all my life and it's just a great environment. I'm around the Suburbs of Toronto, and it's a nice place to say the least.

South Florida sux, IMHO because there's tons of social problems (ie failing schools, crazy insurance rates, crime, yadda).

SoCal is really nice, sunny year long, yet not too hot. Back in San Diego, we never ever used either the heater or the AC. If you have the $ for the (overpriced) house, it's a really wonderful place to be.

However, the police have guns here and don't go chasing after thiefs with whistles and billy clubs. They just tell them to stop and if they don't shoot them.

Is that true? That sounds scary. Havent they heard of "Comparativeness of means" (dunno if that is the right translation) BAsically means: u break self defense if: threatened by a club, u pull a gun and shoot in the head. -> u charged with murder - well no, but i guess it would be manslaughter

Also u cannot simply kill a person, u can disable them (shoot in the legs, whatver nonlethal to stop the offender) Well maybe is is different culture: Here the respect for life is quite high nowadays, that is why we also dont do wars anymore, and dont kill our prisoners.

Of course its not true. They'll give chase and catch them on foot. Policeman don't shoot until they fell threatened. In some instances there's cases of bad shooting, but there's always a rotten apple in each bag.

Thats pretty messed up law you have in Germany, if someone come after me with a club, and I shoot them in self-defense and kill him, I would get charge with manslaughter ??? Didn't they know that you can kill a person to with a club?

I thought gun ownership was illegal in the UK. I probably exagerated about the cops shooting, but they aren't afraid to use lethal force.

No you gotta have licences and keep it safe and have somewhere to shoot as registered....ie farm land for pest control. I own a .22 air rifle, no licences are needed for that anything live though u need them.
