I was checking prices, and for nearly all items I wanted to purchase from NewEgg, the markup was in the shipping.

Several items were priced at least $10-15 cheaper than usual, but the shipping made up the low price. Seems like eBay all over again.

Fedex doesn't deliver on Saturday, either. They both charge an extra fee for Saturday delivery.
Actually Fedex home delivery does, Tues-Saturday

Sorry, no. Not that they don't ever deliver on Saturday, even when Saturday delivery has not been specified, but it is an additional charge if Saturday delivery is specified, same as UPS. You can confirm this on their website if you have any question about it.

FYI everyone; next day service, for pickup Thursday and delivery Friday is cheaper than Saturday delivery for pick Thursday, deliver Saturday - for both UPS andFedex.

Is this recent? B/c I've had FedEx Ground packages delivered on Saturday at no extra charge.

I don't think anything has changed. I received a FE package on a Saturday just two weeks ago. I specifically remember it because it didn't arrive on Friday as expected, and when I went to get the Sunday morning paper from my porch I was surprised to find the package as well. I think it has to do with FE Ground being "independents" ???, here the FE Ground ops run out of a completely different location.

Newegg does not allow for the Saturday delivery though, so you will not get it from them. I had a bit of a throw down with them once about it when I expected to receive a package on Saturday but it was set for Monday :p.

I get stuff saturday all the time. Maybe its a regional thing. I had to drive in to sign for something once and they flat out told me come Tue-Sat, no one will be there Sunday and Monday.

**Crying*** Leave NewEgg Aaaaalllllonnnneeee!!!!!! ***Crying****

For the record, I ordered 2 sticks of memory last month and the UPS ground shipping charge was almost $7 for 3 business days. I wish they have the option as Buy.com = 7 business days for free (small/light weight items such as memory).

I ordered some laptop memory a couple weeks ago, ordered Monday morning, charged and shipped by Monday night, had it Tuesday, all with UPS 3-day shipping. So sometimes you get lucky too....all in all it's still the #1 e-tailer for computer parts in my book.

depends on where the items ship from and where you live. i live in PA and most of the stuf ships from their jersey warehouse. i usually get stuff the day after it was shipped.

Funny, half of the stuff I bought from NewEgg the other week had free shipping. Even a 25lb $300 PC case had free shipping. I couldn't pass that up since that's a savings of around $20!

Yeah, Newegg used to be leaps and bounds ahead of the other e-tailers, they have gone downhill quite a bit but still manage somehow to be a lot better than any other e-tailer... there are some newer ones out there though, who if they keep up their good prices and service with quick shipping could challenge NE in the future

Never had a problem with newegg or the delivery from ups. If I order anything before midday, it always arrives the next day.

Still love NewEgg. Show no loyalty to kickass companies and we'll all be back to shopping at BestBuy *shudder*

Priced out a case: Cheapest UPS is $18.99 Cheapest FedEx is $65.14

Doesn't seem very likely that fedex is that much more, in fact on their website the cost is $19.84.

Try living in Alaska, it's significantly worse. I like NewEgg a lot, but everything comes out way more expensive when it comes time to ship, so I just don't use them anymore.

man, fedex super saver shipping rocked. would have my items in 2 days from CA or NJ. I hated it when Newegg went to UPS and then the price on FedEx shipments went up by a shiton.

I prefer FedEx because they deliver before 7pm and because they'll deliver a day (or two) early if they can. My only real gripe with UPS is that my neighbor will receive a package at 4pm, then they'll leave and come back 3 hours later with my stuff (same driver even). :|

I ordered parts for a new computer (everything but a case and peripherals) on Tuesday at 1pm and I'll be receiving the stuff tomorrow. Not bad for $7, especially since I figured that they wouldn't ship out until Wednesday, since the last 5 or 6 purchases that I've made online have taken a day or two of "processing" before my order was shipped.

Well, except when I ordered a new amp from Sweetwater. They called me up 45 minutes after placing the order to confirm and then the order was shipped 20 minutes later. A few days after receiving the order, they called me again to make sure everything was alright.

All vendors and retails have a history of playing one shipping company against another. It keeps shipping costs down. Just be glad we have 2(3 if you count usps)major shipping options available. Most likely in a few years the egg will go back to fedex and people will be going"omg I miss ups".

If they go to DHL, I'll buy exclusively at MicroCenter until then I'll deal with UPS.

Newegg's search/UI is quite possibly the best ever. No other site compares. Zipzoomfly is terrible.

I must say NewEgg customer service is pretty stellar to come into forums and monitor things. I suppose changes happen and sometimes you don't have many options. I forgive you NewEgg.

People that bash newegg should be saving their money anyway.

I have NEVER had a problem with them and often they are still the low-price leader esp when offering free shipping.

I don't use them exclusively though as often I can find items elsewhere cheaper.

I do agree with the comments on ZipZoomFly...it's painful there unless you know exactly what you want.
