What's happened to NewEgg?

It has become very slow and very expensive. There must be some shens going on with UPS because what happened to the 3.99 Fedex Saver. Now the cheapest Fedex rate is several dollars more than UPS, um no. What the heck is up with UPS not delivering on Saturday? Newegg needs to go back to FedEx.

Priced out a case: Cheapest UPS is $18.99 Cheapest FedEx is $65.14

Doesn't seem very likely that fedex is that much more, in fact on their website the cost is $19.84.

There's this little thing called gas prices. You may have seen something in the news about it.

I haven't seen such a shipping disparity or had such slow processing before. I will have to go else where. NewEgg, I loved you! *sobs*

Fedex doesn't deliver on Saturday, either. They both charge an extra fee for Saturday delivery.

Never had a problem with Newegg or the shipping. Never had an order take more than 3 days and most of the time I end up getting it the next day!

Slow? They still offer better/more punctual service than ANY etailer I have ever dealt with.

They are still #1 in my book.

As for shipping prices increasing: get use to it. As fuel prices increase, everything will get more expensive.

Yeah, I was checking costs to ship a package yesterday and all the diff couriers seem to be adding a "fuel surcharge" on top of their prices (which they've already raised).

Assume the position ...

Yeah, the shipping prices have gone up (I just bought a Bluetooth headset and a 2 GB microSD card, shipping was $8), but their prices in general are pretty good, and they *always* ship within a day or two. I ordered some laptop memory a couple weeks ago, ordered Monday morning, charged and shipped by Monday night, had it Tuesday, all with UPS 3-day shipping. So sometimes you get lucky too....all in all it's still the #1 e-tailer for computer parts in my book.

It's not newegg's fault iirc, fedex increased their rates significantly and so newegg went with the cheaper option for the consumer, ups.

And that is a bad thing in what way? Those deals help reduce the cost of shipping and save both the customer and Newegg money.

I like newegg shipping alot. I am a cheap bastard so I always use their super saver shipping and it always gets to my doorstep in one business week, alot better than other etailers' 2week super saver shipping and up to 48 hour response time.

I ordered a Pioneer DVD burner from them and the tray would not open...returned it for a replacement and I'll be damned if I did not get the same one back..the tray on this one would not open either and I put a little black mark in an inconspicuous place on the first one just to see if something like this would happen....same black mark...same spot.

I pieced together an entire system and Newegg was the cheapest. It wasn't by a lot, but Newegg is extremely fast, reliable, and usually has good customer service.

Sorry, no. Not that they don't ever deliver on Saturday, even when Saturday delivery has not been specified, but it is an additional charge if Saturday delivery is specified, same as UPS. You can confirm this on their website if you have any question about it.

FYI everyone; next day service, for pickup Thursday and delivery Friday is cheaper than Saturday delivery for pick Thursday, deliver Saturday - for both UPS andFedex.
