I heard a couple of commentators predict that Scotland will withdraw from the United Kingdom shortly.
I thought that issue was gone.
Is there something to the rumor?

For the sake of argument, let's say the choices were to allow this, or to have a war with 100,000 killed between England and Scotland, resulting in Scotland remaining in the UK.
For those who oppose their right to secede, would you choose that war? If not, how do you defend the US civil war which killed several times that many for the same basic cause?

If Scotland decide to leave the union then they will leave, there wont be a war about it
Where the hell did you got that idea from?

The partition of Ireland. The American Revolution. The Indian Mutiny. The conquest of Wales. The English have a rich history of violently imposing their rule on others.

The Queen desires peace.
Elizabeth desires peace?
She declares it to me, I swear it. She proposes that you withdraw your attack. In return, she grants you title, estates, and this chest of gold which I am to pay to you personally.
A lordship and titles. Gold. That I should become Judas?
Peace is made in such ways.
Slaves are made in such ways! The last time Elizabeth spoke of peace I was a boy, and many Scottish nobles who would not be slaves were lured by her, under a flag of truce, to a barn where she had them hanged. I was verra young but I remember Elizabeth's notion of "peace."

It looks like the Scots told Donald Trump, "You're Fired!"
No report as to whether fire flew from The Donald's eyes (or lightning out his arse), but he has threatened to move his condos to Ireland.
Probably a good thang - the Aberdeenshire winds would play Hell with his 'doo.

Hard to tell what scottish means. Is it the Celts that own Scotland or transplanted Irish?
Romans claimed it was theirs for a while too.
I am obviously no expert on Scotland. Some of my relatives were Scotch Irish. In our family history there is a warning to beware of the Tyrany of the British.

Anything that may weaken the British is a good thing for the rest of the world. They just need to go all-out and remove the war criminal Queen.
Oil matters hugely to Scottish nationalists, and most experts assume that, with the North Sea oil fields in Scottish waters, Scotland would get up to 95% of UK oil reserves, and nearer half of the gas.
