I have no pictures as I'm not home yet, but I have pot roast and vegetables in the crock pot.

I seared and pressure cooked the meat last night for an hour, stashed it in the fridge overnight with the stock. At lunch, I peeled some potatoes, carrots, diced some celery and onions up and tossed them in the crock pot with the meat and stock. Hopefully it'll be ready in another 2 hours.

You get those Chicago delicacies where you live? Even the steamed poppyseed bun?

There is a place down the street, but no, no steamed bun although it is a poppyseed bun. Dairydelight sells them too and there are a few vendors that sell them. Nothing beats Chicago though!

Just finished off some soup I made. It was simple to make and pretty good.

Put the following into a slower cooker on low for about 7 hours:

1lb italian sausage, browned
1lb bacon, cooked to crispy and chopped
4 potatoes, cubed
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, diced
1 qt chicken stock
1 qt water
red pepper flakes, to taste

After 7 hours, or when the onions are cookied, add the following and cook another 30 minutes:

2 cups kale
1 cup heavy cream

Brined 1-1/4" thick pork chops for a few hours in salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dark brown sugar, ponzu, and some liquid smoke. Smeared them with some Dijon and grilled them for 6 minutes a side using a high-low method (3 minutes on high each side, 3 minutes on low).

Made a mac and cheese with slightly undercooked elbow macaroni and a cheese sauce made from chipotle gouda, fontina, a German blue that I can't recall the name of, some Velveeta, milk, and cream. Basically I threw the leftover cheeses I had in the fridge into the mix. Baked at 300F for an hour.

Had Caesar salad on the side.

Was much better than good.

Went out last night to a local place: had Ossobuco (veal shanks, braised in herb~ey broth and white wine) on a bed of Risotto.

Sadly, it's not considered polite to lick the plate when in Public.

I'll have to make it soon again. Thanks. :)

great meal last night.

pasta
vegetable broth
garlic
onions
fresh basil
spinach
tomatoes
and misc. seasonings (oregano, salt/pepper, etc)

toss it all in a pot, and boil until the pasta is cooked and most of the liquid has evaporated.
