Im trying to backup some of my software CD in case they get fubared. I've already got Ultra ISO and Nero and neither of those do it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you want to just pull the ISO from the cd to your harddrive or pull the data from inside the ISO?

I want to pull the image from the CD. Just like you would rip a DVD image. Im looking for programs that would do that for a CD. So that I can load the image with Daemon or Alcohol.

Alcohol 120%. It's a drive emulation program.

I normally rip the .ISOs with Nero, but I think you can rip the .ISO with Alcohol as well.

How do you do it with Nero?

Nero can only create .nrg images, not ISO. It can read ISO (and Nero Drive can "load" them in the operating system as a virtual CD drive)
I used ISO recorder (but works only on Windows XP)

While that may be true simply renaming the .nrg to .iso has always worked for me.

Alcohol will generally give you more options and be a bit more rubust with Alcohol. Yes it is a drive emulation program, but you need to rip an image from your disc to the HD before you have use for an emulated disc drive :p

Alcohol works well but will require purchase after the trial expires. However I don't know of a free alternative that is just as good or at least pretty close, if anyone does please share
