what's a good mouse/what mouse do you use?

My current one is the Logitech MX1000. Quite nice, little on the pricey side but very comfortable. Might not be what you're looking for considering it's wireless. I'd go with an Intellimouse Explorer or an MX510.

I've never had one

I'm on my first one, so far I really like it. The nice thing about the MX1000 is it has an internal Li-Ion rechargeable battery. As for how long the battery life lasts, I don't know. I bough the mouse last Saturday (4th) and after completely charging the battery, the battery life meter hasn't gone down yet. Naturally that will vary from mouse to mouse. The MX1000 is a bit heavy and kinda large so people will smaller hands may not like it. I actually think it's a little too small. Best thing to do is go to a store that has a bunch of mice on display and try them out to see which feels the best.

Not once for my MX700. I regret not getting a MX510 though.

Can't stand the mx1000.

Got the MX510 as well. Great mouse, I love it. I assigned one of the buttons as a "copy" and another as "paste", so I don't even have to right click to copy/paste anymore! Another goes straight to the desktop incase I want to minimize everything quick (good incase someone sneaks up while watchin pr0n!)

Great mouse, and the finish is beautiful.

wired mouse: mx510
wireless mouse: mx700 (or mx1000 if you crave the accuracy and enjoy frequent battery changes)

logitech or bust!

maybe im too hardcore with my left clicks but ive worn out like 3 MS optical mouse in the past 3 years... if i hit left click once it does double click

I have the MX700.

If you go wireless, I would suggest one that takes AA batteries. If it happens to go down at an inconvenient time, you can always scavenge replacements from something else.
