What's a good home page?

My search shows about three years since a thread like this:
https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/recommend-me-a-new-home-page.2376363/

I have been using MSN as my home page for years, over a decade. There has been a lot to like:
- a wide variety of topics (variety of news stories, sports, wellness, science, history auto)
- generally good layout
- a nice slideshow approach on the top that doesn't keep the page too "busy" and doesn't require constant scrolling

But there is just one ever-increasing problem, and it's kind of a big one: the articles! They are long, they are boring, and they aren't even accurate! (and I am not even talking about political viewpoints, things like historic facts and news stories that have been proven by local sources to be inaccurate)

What are you guys using? Anyone have a suggestion for a page that might suite my needs?

I made my own homepage, custom image background on a randomizer so every time it reloads its a new image. Search bar with built in functions for Google, Youtube, and other sites. And tabs that pop open on mouse-over with lists of my commonly used bookmarks.

I just use Bing. There's the news headlines at the bottom that I can see and I have a box for local news as well. I use Bing cause I get points for searching that I can redeem for Amazon gift cards or like the last one I redeemed, a free month of Hulu.

I am a news junkie so news.google.com or news.yahoo.com is good for me.

Thanks. So far, liking Bing myself.

I used to have an IP checker webpage. But now it's About:blank. I suppose if I wanted one it be Drudge Report.

I don't use a home page because I tend to visit different things every time I open my browser and I don't want something else loading.

Still stuck on the old school excite.com from the 90s.

Open the page very simple links for news headlines, local weather, dow finance, my local Tv listings. Only problem is the ads, though they are all simples a list of links, no fancy video crap just links (many).

keeps me up to date on the latest shows and movies. I like it.

You know, I have like 150 HD channels and the only thing I watch is Cartoon Network's [adult swim] at night and eval FoxNews. LMAO!

But during the summer here I'll be watching The Strain and The Last Ship. If I can remember now, they're both at season 4. I wanna say 3, but I don't think that's right.

about:newtab in Firefox.
In Chrome I was using the 'Simple Speed dial' add-on so that I could get most of the functionality as the page in Firefox I mentioned.

I used to be a fan of about:blank, but when hardware caught up with browsers it was hardly a noticeable concern any more IMO.
