if you have one around, Famous Daves BBQ, no way in hell does Japan have anything even close to as delicious as our BBQ. And if it's a non chain place you've never been to, DO NOT listen to the people on here. A lot of mom and pop places suck balls, easily as many as chains. They're not magically better just because they only have 1 location.

I disagree. Maybe not 100% disagree, but disagree nonetheless. Example: Dominos. Dominos pizza sucked for years. Everyone agreed that they sucked. But, the chain did well because of massive advertising.

Crappy mom & pop restaurants typically don't have a large advertising budget. If their food sucks... they generally don't do very well. Not that there aren't crappy places, but the crappy places tend to be on the decline and can usually be picked out. Word of mouth works very well for finding good restaurants. When that fails, look for a crowded place with (if near the highway) a lot of truckers. Else, a lot of old people.

p.s. Famous Daves BBQ? From what I understand, if you're claiming them as an exemplary model of American food, your opinion isn't very valid in this thread.

With the exception of fast food, chain restaurants are the minority here. Almost every restaurant down town is individually owned/operated and not part of a chain. The chain restaurants are almost universally poorer quality. The reason for this is simple - the menus are designed to be formulaic, and require minimal skilled labour to execute. This means they lack creativity, and rarely take advantage of seasonal ingredients.

Somewhere you could do some light betting would be cool.

You got a horse or dog track?

Emerald Downs (horse track) is nearby but closed for the season. You can get food at the Quarter Shoot, which is a pretty tasty greasy spoon, while you watch the exercise riders but it isn't anything to write home about.

what dates are they going to be here?

also make sure they get some sweet iced tea (McD's is actually pretty decent for that), pretty sure they don't serve it that way in the rest of the world

There are many famous restaurants in America that is most famous for their foods. I am currently live in Boise. It is very nice place. I am doing a job in multinational company. I think the the restaurants in Boise are so good.Mostly i am go their and enjoy the food. You can also use food coupons that you can buy from restaurants counters. I think these coupons are so good if you want to save some money.
