What's a DVD software decoder? Do they come with a new DVD drive or video card?
Do they come with win98 2ed?
Damn.
My G450 doesn't have one. Neither does the cd that it came with.

Edit: Got PowerDVD. All is cool.

A software DVD decoder is simply a software DVD player... it uses your CPU to decode the DVD video when playing the movie...

examples of these software players include PowerDVD, WinDVD...

I don't think there's one included with win98... do a search for PowerDVD on the internet, you can probably find a trial version to download...

There is on included on the win98 cd. Its buried somewhere in the folders. But you need third party decoders. Kind of stupid on MS cuz if you use third party decoders then most likely it came with a third party dvd player.
