I find women over 30 to be more attractive and more fun to be with than women in their 20's.

i think this thread should be sticked as the acme of what all ATOT threads are. the subject should just be changed to
"Tutorial for Anandtech Off Topic"

this thread has cars and women in about equal doses, confusion and a slight hint of desperation.

1970 Cougar with 351 Clevland was my first working car.
The 427 was never offered in the 1967 Cougar, only 1968.

The side oiler was the 425 HP racing engine. And the one used in the GT-E 427 was a 390 HP version.

Besides the 428 SCJ was just as capable.

I really thought it was a 67' - the only reason the guy that bought it from me was for the motor. It was in awefull condition, you could put your feet thru the floor, the trunk and wheel wells were rotted out.

1971 Cougars came with the 429 SCJ and FORD still had the high-compression engines available, unlike GM.

Those are still gorgeous cougars.

I had a 71 XR-7 with the 351C motor. and one word....sequential turn signals!
I know it came with a 429, and indeed a sweet engine
I am talking about the size of the car/weight/bodystyle..................bloated

I loved my XR-7 but I think it was too big compared to the 70 models

My 1970 had those sequential turn signals, the relay broke in 1985. I called a dozen Ford dealers ,and found one that did have one and they sold it to me for the original sticker price of like $5.00

and do what? Scratch it? A grizzlies thick fur and tough skin is more than enough armor against the comparative thumbtacks the cougar would call claws. If it even tried to stay still long enough to try to sink it's teeth into the bear, it would be plenty of time for the grizz to land the only blow it needs to shatter the cat.

I say a cougar is nimble enough not to get hit by a bear in the first place. It would be a cumulative effect of many injuries on the bear. And a cougar totally has sharp claws and teeth that are deadly enough to peirce the bears hide.

Do you have any idea what you're talking about? There are stories of shotguns fired at point-blank into bear faces, and the buckshot just ricocheting off. The bear will destroy anything.

well, Grizzly's at the top for sure, but I bet a cougar could beat a black bear...they're just too docile.

a cougar wouldn't go for a bears face.

It would be like a fighter jet vs. a boeing 747
