What would you do?

1. I walk into Hollister to buy some jeans.

2. I try on a pair and stick my hand in the pocket to push them down.

3. There was a broken sensor in the pocket, but it was the broken part that has the needle sticking out.

4. I get cut and start bleeding quite a bit. I ask someone for a rag and wrap my finger.

5. Management ignores the situation and does not fill out a report or anything. He was a very young guy who seemed like he just wanted to get home asap.

Now I am not sure if they are supposed to do anything but whenever I have seen a person get hurt in a business, the manager or owner makes an effort to at least ask them how they are doing. Id say 80% of the time, the person has gotten something comped.

Now I am not looking for a payday here or anything for that matter. But I think its unprofessional and don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Now that I think about it, I hope the pin wasnt dirty.

Should I contact the district manager or corporate? Should I just let it go?

*Update*

I just got a response via email with an apology and they want me to call them tomorrow. This should be interesting.

*2nd Update*

I ended up calling customer service and explained the situation to them about 2 weeks ago.

They were very helpful and said what happened was not correct procedure and the issue would be forwarded to corporate.

Yesterday I recieved a message from the liability division of the insurance co. who represents Abercrombie. I will call them back on monday and see what is going on.

will update on Mon.

Let it go. Unless you for some reason feel like supporting attorneys and their $500/hr jobs.

I would call and complain at least. Customer service has really gone downhill in the last 7-8 years...

I dont plan on trying to get a lawsuit and even if a lawyer wanted me to I just couldnt do it because I would feel like a POS. I was just wondering if someone higher up the ladder should know considering it involved a customer getting injured.

It was very awkward. He didnt even make an apology.

I almost got the vibe that they may have felt I did it on purpose.

They just kept looking at me but not saying anything.

GET IT ON RECORD with the store! Let them know again what happened (the store or cooporate), you can even complain about it, but if they do not do anything compensation wise drop it. But, just make sure its documented incase lets say for some reason the needle was dirty and now you get a severe infection or the like.

Mainly though you should at least get a 20% coupon or something. I am just glad I didn't read it said they were making you pay for the jeans that you got blood on or something.

i would contact the district manager, or higher up, expressing concern for their lack of proper procedure when something like this happens. also, i would be concerned about the lack of cleanliness in regards to the sharp projectile. is your tetanus immunization up to date?

and hell, they should've given you the jeans!

call some one and tell them. that is really bad customer service and the very least you deserve is an apology.

These days they have to assume you're out to get them. The store would be very careful about admitting any kind of liability, that opens the way for a lawsuit.

What you should have done is started of screaming in pain (making a scene) and telling them to call 911.

And shouldn't you go get a tetanus shot?

I was just in a Hollister for the first time today to get some shorts. That place is strange. All those dark little rooms.
