And Bradruth, you'd be an idiot to request MP. Trust me, I am one! I love it, but its hard work.

Well, that's where my talents are.

The way things are currently, chances are you would wind up on gaurd duty for a prison somewhere, or working some other equally mind numbing post.

won't declaring you are gay work better?

IF a draft were in place (which it wont be), that wont get you out of serving.

Conscientious objectors become medics. You still get shot at, only this way you can't shoot back.

yeah, you do civilian duty. but with the wide range of races and religion here, i was just kind of shocked it hadnt been brought up yet.

I thought you had to declare that when you registered for the draft, not after you're drafted anyway.

I would go. I would have to be a sniper though based on what I am good at now.

I'm 39 with prior military. I'm not in the best of health, but If a draft was needed, I'd try to get back in. I'm able-bodied ( and since my country needs are there ) I'll get in .. somehow.

Now given i'm not from USA , id never , ever go to military unless my country was under attack. WW1 , WW2 , i'd be fighting for my country in heartbeat.

Vietnam , Iraq , Yugoslavia i'd be 1st to pizz off and desert. In no way i'm going to be associated with some mad mans greed , religion or pure idiocy.

Be seriously pissed off because I TRIED to enlist exiting high school but wasn't allowed in because of a medical condition (one kidney). If they wouldn't let me join when I was, young, ready, and willing they can suck a d!ck trying to draft me now that I'm old(er), married, professionally established and NOT willing.
