What if they are just checking the time on their cellphone?Ban texting while driving. Make the 1st offense $5000 and the 2nd offense you lose your car and it gets sold at auction cause your too stupid to learn.
oooh. can I take back my flipflop ban and ban American Apparel instead?
or maybe boat shoes. they're way worse.
You realize the one on the right has an adam's apple bigger than your coinpurse, right?
What if they are just checking the time on their cellphone?
there is a clock in almost every car ever made
What if they are reading a very short TXT message?
this is texting while driving
It would be the same distraction as people who change the radio.
most people could change a radio station in their car blindfolded. most people can't navigate their cellphone blindfolded.
Unpossible to enforce.
i agree
You understand my point... if not, I will reiterate it.see above^^^

Handheld electronic devices are becoming more common and more integrated into our lives.
They are not only for TXTing, but also for media playing, internet, weather, GPS, clock, etc.
How can a cop discern whether they are texting, versus any other activity.
Is merely looking at a mobile device's screen considered illegal?
Some people read books while driving... is that specifically illegal?
I think creating laws against TXTing is too specific and will be changed in the near future.
Politicians with more than 10 years in office. Seriously, if you can't get shit done in a decade, get the hell out and let someone else give it a shot.
It would also mean that more politicians would care less about getting reelected than doing something useful.
