what would you assume by "proper attire required" at a restaurant

To me it means I'm not eating there unless I'm trying really hard to get laid. And now that I'm married that means I'm not eating there.

I'd go with this, but unless it was more specific, I'd probably assume a polo shirt was acceptable if tucked in and wearing a belt.
