There's plenty of mouse-clutching preachers out there, if you're not familiar with the posts then keep on moving. I've seen them enough to be curious.

This one in particular was disturbing.

I read your response. I think your an idiot. Just because he believes that kid that committed suicide is in purgatory doesn't mean he is "thumping his bible". It seems you are trying to start a flame war with any religious person you can. And he wasn't preaching or anything like you mentioned in your original post in this thread. Oh, and even if he was let him, that topic was somewhat about religion anyway. Religion deals alot about death, and after-life... he wasn't preaching when someone asked what they should eat for dinner, or who they should date. I think you need to stop being a religious bashing jerk, and just realize that people have differences of opinions. Oh and btw, its not cool to bash religions either, despite popular belief on this forum.

Your an idiot? Learn to spell and have a discussion without throwing sh!t around, first off. It's "you're."

Telling someone his friend is going to burn in hell for committing suicide is so wrong it's retarded. Besides, it's merely an example, which was requested, and not representative of my point.

Back onto the little yellow school bus for you, Mr. manners.

Thx for the grammer tip, I'll remember it next time in school. But since its past midnight and Im on an internet forum, I don't really care. Second of all, in any Christians view-point this guy is going to burn in hell. Since you put it so delicately. Third of all, the original poster seemed to be Christian, or atleast somewhat religious. So I don't see what the problem is. Maybe you just have a problem with it? Well to bad. If you don't like to see us preaching then don't read it. But you don't see us getting on your case EVERY time you preach something immoral/unethical/anti-christ.

I dunno, why do people feel the need to post about their lack of religious beliefs on a computer hardware forum? Obviously the only difference between you and them is the directions you take. Maybe next time you should entitle your thread "what would hypocrites do".

Morals and ethics are to christ like sugar and flour are to Krispy Kreme.

I can do things with the previous without embracing the latter..

So you disagree? I am far from being a very religious person and with the exception of this thread, I never talk about religion on AT. That said, if you really believe that there are more religious "preachers" than "bashers" on AT, you must be ignorant. Sure, there are a fair number of preachy types that frequent the forums, but it seems like 9 out of 10 people here despise religion and are not afraid to admit it.

Don't let your zeal cloud your judgement. Nowhere in my post was this about my lack of faith, but rather the need for others to project theirs in seemingly unrelated discussions.

Yet you've still failed to provide an adequate example of how someone projected their preaching into an unrelated discussion.

Nowhere in your post was anything about your lack of faith? Oh, so you sign everything "your agnostic friend"? Makes sense. And as far as my "zeal" obviously you're just talking out your ass. Religious fervor is the last thing you could accuse me of having. You're speaking to someone who's been to church once in the last year or two and only then because my mother requested it for mothers day. So no, my post has nothing to do with my "zeal" but rather how annoying hypocrites are. Nice try though.

...this about my lack of faith.

You're not understanding. "this" being the focus of my post. You're taking a minor portion of my post, where I declare my personal stance, and making it something it's not.

This is a forum of "science," (computers) where analytical thinking prevails. To make arguements using no logical proof or material evidence (faith) simply derails and sometimes offends.

My non-hypocritical question was simple:

Why is it that many people feel the need to share the gospel at a "computer hardware discussion forum?"

Thats an absurd reason. First of all, this is an off topic forum. Second of all, you not believing in any particular religion requires just as much faith for me to believe in Jesus. There is no definte proof that your big bang theory is true, its just a theory. And if thats what you believe then you must insert faith into it. Infact EVERYONE inserts faith into whatever they believe (concerning the origin of this earth) because none of it has been proven true.

And? Honestly, who the hell is so pathetic as to be offended by a persons beliefs as long as they're not harmful to others? Also try looking at it from the other side of the coin. I'm sure if there are people out there who get offended by someones beliefs there are others who get offended by peoples lack of beliefs or bashing of said beliefs. As soon as you'd like to make a point that's not completely hypocritical I'm more than happy listen but as it stands you only seem to look at an issue from your limited perspective. If making weak arguments is your thing then by all means, have at it. Just understand that they're a little lacking.

Also, you'd be hard pressed to convice me and many others that analytical thinking is somthing a message board can ever be accused of.

The only thing lacking here is you.

And that's awesome logic: the aforementioned individual is pathetic because he's ostensibly offended by e-preachers telling him his newly deceased friend is going to hell?

Interesting.

I never understood the WWJD thing...its like when you have a problem do you seriously think of what would jesus do? Like i see people buying shoes in the store and they have a wwjd band around their hand...its like would jesus take the oldskool pumas or the chucks...
