This forum is called Off Topic. It's where people who like computers get to discuss things besides computers.
If you don't like it, there are 19 other categories to hang out in.

As long as I've been here, some of the smartest and best posters have belived in God and did not hide the fact. Unfortunately many of those members got fed up with posts like this and left. Others with faith simply don't post anything about religion because it's an automatic invitation for attack. And if you think there are too many religious threads now, you REALLY would have hated things a few years back.

And regarding the thread about suicide... about 95% of the world's population would agree that the kid went to hell (or will be reincarnated as something really bad). That's why it's so tragic.

Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheists are about 850 million strong worldwide. 95% thing he went to hell? Hogwash. You're in hell right now, imho.

I will digress...

I answered your question, you just don't like my answer. You have still failed to show an adequate example of how religion has been brought into a thread that wasn't concerning it. However many people have pointed out how anti-religion people seem to ALWAYS want to take a swipe at religion in anyway they can. Kind of a double standard, dont you think?

Ya know if there is one thing I have noticed about ATOT its that the cool thing to do is be a hypocrite.
Yes, you and your friend have been thumping that mantra the entire thread, I'm aware of your opinion. I think my example works just fine.

I don't see people as "anti-religion" nor do I see them as taking swipes in any way they can. I think many religous people, particularly those christians with a literate interpretation of the bible are offended by any angnostic/athiest type of discussion, period.

Just don't start strapping explosives to yourself and we'll get along fine...

This one in particular was disturbing.

GAK !!!

An interesting statement about 'purgatory' because that place only exists in particular religious minds. It's not in the BIBLE.

Your examples do not work fine. Based on your original post you said that religion is brought into threads that HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION. But you have shown NO, NOT ONE, example of when this has taken place. So please explain to me how your examples are "just fine". The only reason you don't see anti-religious people taking swipes at Christianity is because you dont want to.

And as for your last statement- its kind of ridiculous if you think about it. Im willing to bet that if you could somehow measure the % of peaceful people in the world that Christians would be much more peaceful then Atheists. So if anyone is going to be strapping on bomb on themselves its probably going to be the atheists that have nothing to live for.

You crack me up. People with a limited belief of afterlife have everything to live for, we don't get to look forward to dying and meeting god like you.

Christians are more peaceful than athiests? Oh yes, the great athiest crusade was a travesty on the world.

Religion causes more trouble than anything else in this world.
