If you have a personality like mine, you like the challenge. In fact, the thrill of getting a new girl is the exciting part of the relationship. It makes it that much more of a thrill and exciting if she already has a bf or you are battling it out with another guy for her attention. This is one of those times when I would stick with her as much as I could and eventually she'll see me as something more.

I would have almost hurt myself running away from this situation. I have found it best to believe a woman when she says that she is not interested.
 
If you want to be friends with her, then be friends. If you're looking for anything non-platonic, I would stay away. I fell victim to the friends ladder situation before, so be weary.
