You're not a troll b/c you can afford to own a house, you're a troll because you assume everyone else can. Oh, and also because you're a case of a douchebags sitting in an aisle titled "Giant Douchebags" in a store called "Douchebags 'R' Us."

Oh I am sorry, but I dont assume everyone else can....

I am sorry too that you are not entitled to have life just the way you want it when you share walls with another human.

/thread.

You sure as hell seem like you assume everyone can buy their own house. You don't think joemonkey would rather live in his own house without shared walls? He already explained his situation.

One may not be entitled to have life the way they want it when they share walls with others, but they sure as hell aren't supposed to have to deal with the shit joemonkey is dealing with (by law and based on his rental agreement, not just my opinion).

No not true...just as a homeowner I don't get pissed because my neighbor sometimes takes his Harley out at 6am or returns after midnight on a workday.

If there was really laws broken the police would have done something. If this was unusual for that condo/apartment the management would do something.

It's unfortunate yes, but don't try to paint me as the asshole because you want to live in a fairy tale where everyone wins.

The OP needs to arrange to move, if he cannot due to the fees involved needs to accept what he is left with after management and the law does what they have.

If he thinks he has a case sue everyone...it's the american way it seems.

You're an impotent Internet troll. You can't "make" anyone do anything. Now crawl back into your cave and cry yourself to sleep, troll.

figured this is what the thread would turn into once I saw alkemyst post, oh well. We're going to talk to the office manager tomorrow morning, depending on what this thread has turned into I'll either update it or start a new one linking to this one.

Shit son, all I have to do is post and people can't help themselves.

Must be a lot of poor people here thinking they are entitled to peace and quiet 24/7 in low budget rentals.

1) so the police are on the 'take' or something?

2) it's not about being a pussy, it's about knowing your role and not trying to make yourself as more important than everyone else.

I was a considerate neighbor when I rented apartments. I can't fault a neighbor though buying a subwoofer though, nor the guy that works 4am to noon if he wakes me up early each day.

The you mention 'illegal' activity...if you really expect to live anywhere where all your neighbors are totally legal, you are pretty deluded.
<snip>

hate to feed the troll even more, but you do have a point. The time the cop came up that I was watching iron man quietly by myself he even said "you have to remember it is an apartment" to which i replied "tell THEM that" and he just had nothing to say in reply.

My completely honest response to loud music downstairs would be to turn up whatever the hell we're watching/listening to. like i said, we already have a very loud fan in our daughter's room so she doesn't have to hear their bickering, but it would also block out any loud music they may play (which hasn't been an issue so far).

2am? maybe we call in a complaint. 10pm? just wait it out. 7:30pm? fuck you...

I don't care about the legality of what my neighbors do, but you MUST remember these crazy ass pieces of paper called "The Constitution" and "Bill of Rights" and respect them. They are doing things that infringe upon our rights and you apparently don't care and want to suggest they, the law, constitution, and bill of rights infringers are in the right?

See that's where the Constitution REALLY went over your head, did you go to college?

It's your freedom to play you music within reason during normal hours...for most that is between about 6-7am in the morning to roughly midnight on a workday and 2am on the weekends. It's not your right to be able to tell your neighbor he can't. You misunderstand rights greatly.

It is your right to pick another apartment...so far you have shown no one at the scene takes you seriously. ATOT is just defending one of it's members blindly. You lost me really when you brought up race and said 'other's may care'

Doesn't matter when you "think" music should be allowed. There are laws that say when you can and can't play your music loud. I know up here in Prince William county, you have until 10:00PM including weekends. Not sure about the OP's county.

I wasn't speaking for all laws, simply that there are laws that give one 'rights'...

The police have found no fault.

Your noise laws are a bit excessive.

You seem to forget that they are the ones calling noise complaints on us at 7:30pm and we've NEVER called a noise complaint on them.

In any event, we went down to the office today and the apt. manager asked us to come back in about an hour and a half. our neighbor, whom we share a wall with and happens to work at the apt complex in case anyone missed that earlier, happened to be working so we talked to her.

she said she's never heard ANY noise from our apt other than turning a shower on (we share the wet wall) or walking on creaky boards. she also said the courtesy officer made the apt manager aware that he also believes their calls on us are retaliation and she really did want to talk to us. I explained that we truly do not feel safe and don't want to leave but may have to. I'll update hopefully with more info in about an hour.

don't get me wrong, they are probably asshats and now using their right to complain.

It's not a crime to report a noise violation. The police are paid to come out and check.

I was mostly coming from the angle that much of the problem you stated is not really a problem and just goes with living by people. The alarm clock is a good example.

Seems like we have this in a "pending resolution" state after talking with the property manager.

The apt complex was already going to NOT renew their lease, which is up at the end of May. Turns out that they go complain to the office about all sorts of stuff not even related to us every month in a thinly veiled attempt to get a free months rent.

The manager apologized to us profusely. She stated that she used to manage another apt complex and Luther lived there before living here and they chose to not renew his lease their either. She says she cannot guarantee he won't do anything violent but she is fairly certain he is all bark and no bite due to prior dealings with them.

She did state that they were already on their list of "do not renew" before we even moved in, so there is very little chance they will place all the blame on not getting renewed on us, which leaves very little chance of them trying to "get back at us." in fact, she said that their harassment of us actually turned out to be good for the apt complex since actual police officers did not witness any loud noise coming from our apartments when they were called, which helps the case for not renewing the lease.

she even stated that if we truly didn't feel safe that she would pay for a moving company to move us to another unit on the other side of the complex. We said we'll stay where we are for now but to keep that offer open until a month after they're gone and she said ok.
