End of Human Race

Evolution. Once we're not humans anymore. Our descendants are going to be around for a hell of a long time, but we might not recognize them.

I think it will be a Genetic Famine.

Some European company tested a genetically modified crop in India that failed horribly, forcing thousands of farmers into poverty (many of them committing suicide). Not only did the crop fail, but it left no re-plantable seed.

Imagine another 50 years, and all our agriculture is based on genetically modified crops. Then 1 year, something happens to make all crops in the world fail.

It would cause a panic/riots for organic food, massive inflation - the economy will completely collapse. Lesser countries will starve to death and start war.

This is a real problem; messing around with our food supply such that it doesn't reproduce means that a company like Monsanto can potentially seriously fuck humanity.

I imagine there might be some sort climatic crisis preceding our Sun turning a red giant, but hopefully we'll have colonized some sort of distant habitation.

Or, maybe we'll ascend into bodiless pure energy. Yeah, that would be cool.

This is 100% pure fearmongering.

I'm thinking death from above (a la meteor).
There's always the guaranteed end of world scenario: When the Sun finally starts to approach its red giant phase.

And you'd better believe that they are fully aware of that, and not in a good way.

Nope, they'll be arguing that they didn't evolve from us because there will still be human running around, and they'll do this on their intergalactic-mesh.

Natural disasters, but slow ones...the world will slowly get less and less hospitable towards human life as we know it.

Damn, someone on The Daily Show said that Obama is the Antichrist/Beast, and will bring on the end of the world. And he'll almost certainly be in office in 2012....hmm.

Indeed, wars it is 😀

A big, worldwide nuclear or other war will probably be the end of the human race. A natural disaster would have second place on the list of possibilities.
