Buttigieg was my absolute favorite in the mix last year. Unfortunately, I've come to the conclusion that he may be unelectable because he's gay. I want to be wrong about that but I don't think I am.
I do ponder that same question. But I think if that many people voted for Biden with a black woman as VP, a gay white man would be ok.

I'm most concerned about him getting through a dem primary. He had zero support from African Americans and not much from Hispanics. Which, even if he did win the primary, could be an enthusiasm problem in the general.

That's very true. I'd like to think if he could make it through the primaries with some great sound bites, he could do it. I may just be being too hopeful.

I do worry mayor Pete could turn out like an Obama. Very cerebral smart progressive that underestimates the pure evil that is the GQP

Maybe Klobuchar will run again. She was my second choice. Or Cory Booker. I also thought he would make a strong candidate.

Definitely Booker. He can be very inspirational and has good oratorial skills. More progressive than Amy. His pharma bro ties could be problematic with the progressives, but not as much as Klobuchar, for being too moderate.

1) Rushing to pull out of Afghanistan without much of a plan

There was no rush. Putting up with our mistakes in Afghanistan for 20 years nullifies any use of the word "rush". Many are now saying "WHY NOT HAVE WAITED THREE MORE MONTHS SO WE COULD HAVE DONE IT RIGHT?"
Three more months? Three more months? Seriously...
America had enough with THREE MORE MONTHS and THREE MORE MONTHS and yet another THREE MORE MONTHS for the past 20 years. We have had 20 years of three more months. That boils down to 80 instances of three more months, 80 instances mind you of three more months over the last 20 years. Do the math yourself. Joe Biden had enough of "three more months", and it was time to go, which we did. This withdrawal should be Biden's glowing achievement of his legacy however we will never know. America will never know the lives saved with getting out now and not waiting another "three more months", or another three years as some would have preferred.

2) Biden gives ok to Covid booster shots before FDA has a chance to approve it. (Biden administration walks it back saying it was always after FDA backing)

The problem is not with boosters, the problem is with those who refuse to vaccinate at all. A tiny little glitch between the FDA and CDC and the administration is nothing. Just a tiny glitch that will be figured out quite soon. Remember, and least we forget the past when the issue was not vaccinations but rather Clorox and Hydroxychloroquine. So how dare there be people who attempt to compare the tiny glitch of now with the total and complete insanity of the Trump past? Shame on you!

3) Biden convinces Australia to kill $43B conventional sub deal with France so Australia can buy nuclear subs from US. France is very angry about being back stabbed like this from a close ally.

Sorry, but I don't really care. Seems like a real nothing to me, and no doubt to most Americans. I trust Joe Biden over Donald Trump or over any republican when it comes to.... well actually, when it comes to ANYTHING concerning the world stage.

And so.... is THAT all you have?

Well, better luck next time....

Buttigieg was my absolute favorite in the mix last year. Would love to have seem him debate Trump. It would have been a massacre.

Still, I can imagine him beating a horsehead like DeDantis.

Starting off she was my horse in 2020, but she ran a terrible primary campaign. Makes no pretty worried what a general would look like for her.
I hated Kamala as soon as she threw her hat in the ring. She's as centrist as just about any Democrat which in today's climate means a socially liberal conservative. On top of that, she errs on the side of authoritarianism. The more I learn about her the more I hate her. Thankfully she's just a VP with relatively little power and hopefully she never becomes the Democrats' nominee for President.
Maybe Klobuchar will run again. She was my second choice. Or Cory Booker. I also thought he would make a strong candidate.
I don't remember being impressed by Klobuchar nor put off by her. I know relatively little about her but I know I didn't find her even remotely exciting during the primary. Booker can go get a honey enema and sit on an anthill for a few days. He's a fucking big Pharma bro and I wouldn't trust him to water my plants let alone run the country. I really liked Buttigieg. I liked Yang's fixation on UBI but not sure I trust a hedge fund bro enough to give him full control.

I don't know who would be best for 2024. Thankfully it's still 3 years away.

Yeah, the more I saw of Harris the less I liked her. I ended up moving to Amy, I think she'd be good at the job, but she does lack the Karishma. I think she could stand out in a field of 4 but not 20.

Pete seemed great, but I don't like his lack of experience.

This thread turned out well for OP.
I guess next thread should be "How can OP avoíd an easily avoidable screw up posting a thread like this one?"

It's important to only post things that are herd approved. The safest category is examples of stupid people or criminals that are republican. This gives affirmation of the herds superiority, while providing a catalog of ignorance for those times that individuals are feeling threatened by the ignorant horde.

That psyc 101 class I took is really paying off.

Thanks for reminding me, regarding op:

I wasn't excited for Biden. In fact, if I were to sum up my outlook when he won the nod it would be:
il_570xN.2585251021_o2rc.jpg

Since then he has done better than I expected on several fronts, and about as expected for most of the rest. The one place I wish he would do better would be to waterboard Manchin and Sinema until they get on the train. Once we get the absolutely imperative legislation passed, I won't hold it against him if he continues to waterboard them just for kicks.

I won't waste time addressing the ridiculous 3 criticisms offered as they've already been thoroughly discussed. I guess OP has already forgotten how desperate the Reich wing is to criticize Democratic Presidents like they did we Blow-Job Bill and Tan-Suit Barry.

I'm going to vote for whichever candidate has the best chance of beating Trump. Period. It's what I did in 2020 by voting for Biden even though he wasn't even in my top 3. I strongly suggest everyone else do the same.

How do you tell the difference between "herd-approved" and just plain-old correct?

You gotta give it to righties, they are master projectionists.

The guy who can never back up his opinion with sources and actual facts and who seemingly knows nothing about everything, is proclaiming it’s everyone else that has a herd mentality.

Some people are capable of evaluating opinions and validating/invalidating them while others, like him, think that all opinions are valid.

That must have been in the 102 class.

Doesn't really require an advanced course to understand that you must first determine the "herd's" objections to be without merit before even calling it a "herd." If lots of people criticize someone's views, either they are doing so out of reflexive partisanship i.e. the "herd", or they are doing so because the views are bunk, in which case the criticism is perfectly natural and logical. You can't just skip the step of determining which it is, then declare it a herd mentality.

That is called "logic 1A."

There is one ultra-major screwup I put on Joe. He didn't run in '16. If he had, none of the last four years of terror would have happened.

Unless he picked the HlidaBitch as his running mate.

It should have been Warren/Booker in 2020. 8 years for Warren to unfuck things while Booker drops the centrist schlop. That said, I'll vote for whomever isn't the fascist.
