This is an interesting idea but it shows how current republicans are a fascist party. They are saying that they should use the government to attack media/tech outlets that make editorial decisions they don’t like.

So while you’re right that Twitter should reasonably worry that fascism will win and then Republicans will work to suppress unfriendly speech I imagine their response would be to move overseas.

So, even if Joe met with the guy, what did he do. He enacted a policy that the guy now investigating (Ron Johnson) him asked him to. That is what is nuts about all this. What is the there there. The same with Hillary's emails.

Well currently they (minus Facebook) are moving to suppress disinformation and propaganda.

The issue currently is that Republicans are moving to use the government to attack social media outlets that do not toe the line. Facebook apparently realized a while ago that this was happening and so has moved to work with Republicans to spread propaganda. The other social media companies are trying to act with more integrity though, even though it’s clearly to their political advantage to not. My point is if fascism wins here and companies continue to wish to act with integrity they have options.

To add insult to injury they'll make trucker hats and skinny jeans the new public school uniform, and raise a rainbow flag every morning instead of old glory. No one is suppressing "unfriendly" speech. They are being mindful of tactics being used by specific actors and they are doing basic due diligence prior to blindly providing a platform to those actors.

I do want to watch the champions of small government and limited regulation loose their shit at the platforms because they stomped on their disinformation campaign.

Segue to free speech & stuff, flood the media with utter crap of a slightly different flavor. So persecuted. It's not just the firehose of falsehood anymore- it's like opening the floodgates on the Three Gorges Dam.

He said he would move back to his motherland, which turns out to be Greece. Shit, I'm gonna ask him if he can take me with him. I even speak some of the language as Cyprus is my motherland. Seems like a fun guy, and I had no idea he was so enlightened.
