I went to sleep at 6-7AM that morning and was awaken by a phone call from my aunt. "Turn on CNN, something happened to New York!" "What?" "Turn on the TV!" I sat up on my bed and reached over to push the monitor's power button - my computer doubles as a TV. So i was sitting on my bed and watching a gigantic cloud of smoke and dust that seemed to cover all of NYC.

I don't remember much of what happened afterwards - all i know is that i was so tired that i passed out and didn't wake up until 4PM, at which point i went to work and spent the entire day there listening to a local news radio station. So what were you doing when you found out?

I was sleeping, and was woken up my phone call after phone call. What exactly is the point of asking this now?

I was asleep, and my mom comes in and says "wake up it's our world!" or something like that. I get up and go to the TV, just in time to see the plane hit the second tower.

I sat down in shock and didn't move for about 24 hours (didn't even eat).

I was just thinking about how surreal it was. Every time i whould think back to it, even weeks later, i couldn't believe it really happened. For a moment there, i would always think it was just a bad dream.

I was sleeping. My mom walks in very scared(we live on the west coast) telling me that something happened and she doesn't know if my sister - who works two blocks from the WTC was alright. So I get up and sit in front of the tv, very shaken up at the images then I see the second tower fall and I am in shock, praying for my sister. We didn't get ahold of her until late that night. Apparently the first plane hit right after she got off the subway just a couple blocks from the WTC. She crouched down in panic then started running. A stranger soon gave her a ride all the way across the brooklyn bridge.

I thank God that she's ok.

came out of the shower and my roomie and i thought there was an accident. little did we know.

why are people busting his balls about wanting to know? everytime i drive near the NYC skyline, i just think where was i when it happened?

I still cant believe the skyline looks the way it does, and whenever i stare at the skyline i just lose myself in it. I get in a total daze. its weird.

I was going to my 2nd period class when one of my friends said something about us being attacked and us going to war. I didn't believe it, then I saw the footage a couple of minutes later :(

Dead asleep, when my friend called me, a friend who is NEVER up that early, so I knew something was wrong. He said the WTC blew up and I thought he was playing some sort of stupid prank. :(

Sleeping... it was 5 or 6am here (in Alaska) and my dad woke me up saying "The US is under attack, there was been terrorist attacks on the the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. One of the towers has collapsed and they saying hundreds of thousands of people could be dead! They have hijacked other planes..."

I remember, laying there for a few minutes in shock and then I walked in and turned on the TV only to watch the second tower collapse. To make it all worse, my dad's birthday is 9-11-49. Now he has to live with that date for the rest of his life.... :(

I was at work when someone said a plane had crashed into the world trade centre. Once we had the TV on, none of less that spot for the next 3-4 hours. It was very difficult to comprehend.
